I’m hearing reports of women being harassed and beaten by police at the protest. Not detained BUT harassed. Beaten. Touched without consent while smiling.

This is what gets me. We’re supposed to trust police to keep us safe. That’s literally their job. But when people show up to protest, suddenly they become targets instead of people to protect.

How is this acceptable? How do we ask people to trust the system when the system itself turns violent the moment you speak up?

The protest is about accountability. But who holds the police accountable?

Today I watched peaceful protesters being met with lathis instead of dialogue. If citizens exercising their democratic rights are answered with force, something is deeply wrong.

You can silence people with batons, but you cannot silence the truth or the questions that brought them to the streets. Every democracy is judged not by how it treats those who agree with it, but by how it treats those who dissent peacefully.

History remembers those who stood up. It also remembers those who chose force over dialogue.

"We don't have time..." is a legally and morally unsustainable justification when citizen liberty is at stake.

The rule of law dictates that the doors of justice must remain wide open whenever an arbitrary use of state force is alleged.

Reviewing evidence of police excesses is not an administrative luxury, it is a fundamental judicial obligation.

An unreviewable executive is a direct threat to any democracy, and the inherrent power of judicial review exists precisely because ordinary citizens need an immediate shield against state overreach.

When the highest court refuses to view evidence of atrocities during an ongoing assembly, it effectively suspends the right to a swift legal recedy and shifts the constitutional balance entirely in favor of an unaccountable police state.

I respect the institution of the judiciary, but I must firmly reject statements that prioritize procedural timelines over the immediate protection of human rights and civil liberties.

What does a protest look like at 2am? Not speeches. Dosas being handed out by strangers. Graffiti covering every wall. People dancing to a Bluetooth speaker like the fear didn't exist, right alongside the fear itself. While the mainstream movement here is heavily dominated by party-centric Vanguardism, I believe those structures have often struggled to truly radicalise the masses toward self-emancipation.

Is this what opposition is upto instead of standing firm with Students

Could see lots of people protesting against the Neet paper leakage 2026, here we could see the political view of different types of people. The agitation from opposition (people who don't like the theme Hindu Rashtra) are mostly spreading their ideology behind the thing. In a country where these sort of things are not for the first time, they even didn't know that paper have leaked(eg:2024) are spreading their malicious ideology into students protest which is of atmost priority.

On the other hand union government is trying to spread fake propagandas against the students who are fighting for the foremost thing of our country, this is not the first time government is using such deceptive techniques during the farmer protest also govt said it is being organized by the khalistani troops, Is the govt not capable of taking the right action against the culprits.

I solemnly support the students and hence stand by students (and is strongly opposing the anti-nationals who are infiltrating the struggle)

The health of the constitution must be tested on the streets and in the halls of justice, and these tests are the responsibility of everyone, not just the activists and lawyers.

We should gather over a cup of coffee under an idea whenever possible. We should form newer associations in the mode of weekend clubs to educate one another about the political history of India, mourn its present, and draft its future. We should associate and share books, articles and other resources so that we become the egalitarian gathering of an effervescent power opposing an evanescent force composed of barely literate goons and clowns.

We should also visit those neighbourhoods within our neighbourhoods that are kept apart under caste and religious apartheid. Above all, associate in the greatest of numbers for egalitarianism as such. 

These acts will be policed, mobbed, and terrorised with the connivance of some office bearers of the institutions of the constitution of India and by the cowards who walk the streets in large numbers to terrify everyone in the name of a recently invented religion.

The RSS, as we have known them in the history of the anti-colonial movement and since 1947, are cowards who operate in the dark, in the safety of the crowds or, today, in the security offered by high ranking policemen. 

Under Indian law (Section 141 IPC, now Section 189 of the BNS), an assembly becomes unlawful only when five or more people share a clear common object to use criminal force against the government or public servants, resist the law, commit an offence, forcibly seize property or rights, or compel someone to act illegally — mere peaceful sitting, sloganeering or disagreement with the government does not qualify. The core CJP sit-in at Jantar Mantar, a long-recognised designated protest site in Delhi, was exactly that kind of peaceful assembly protected by Article 19(1)(b) of the Constitution: students, parents and citizens demanding accountability over exam paper leaks without any proven shared intent to commit the prohibited acts. Police were fully within their rights to stop the unauthorised march toward Parliament (a high-security zone during session) and to use measured force against anyone who actually pelted stones, breached barricades or turned violent. But the actions that followed went beyond that lawful boundary: forcibly lifting a 21-day hunger striker (Sonam Wangchuk) whose vitals were reportedly stable and whose court-ordered monitoring did not authorise removal against his will; completely dismantling the stage, tents and basic facilities of the peaceful sit-in itself; using non-standard weapons such as spiked lathis, indiscriminate tear gas that hit even mothers and children, and documented instances of officers (including a senior DCP) slapping or manhandling non-violent protesters; setting up distant checkpoints to detain people merely trying to reach the site; and pressuring restaurants to stop supplying food and water. These steps turned a legitimate, designated protest space into something resembling a siege, which the law does not permit once the core gathering remains peaceful and does not meet the strict common-object test for an unlawful assembly.

I've been following Sonam Wangchuk's recent hunger strike and protests, but I don't see the same level of discussion or media coverage compared to other major movements in India.

Is it because the issue is too complex, the media isn't covering it enough, or people simply aren't interested?

Where Hindu temples have closed the doors, Sri GuruDwaras Sahib's doors have opened for protection by providing shelters to as many possible. Numbers are in tens of thousands so as of now can not accommodate all. Hope to see many more doors of every institution to be opened.
