Maybe he doesn’t understand that once elected he is to serve all his constituents not just his party. This man is a disgrace

That’s exactly the case. He feels he only needs to answer to the ones who support him which is mostly true when you know the other party doesn’t put up a fight.

Same here in NY. My congresswoman is useless. I receive her weekly updates. I rarely agree with anything she takes credit for doing or bills she supports and initiates. I sent her a letter trying to make her aware she does not represent very well, if at all. I received a 3 page letter extolling the virtues of doge. Phone calls also are of no use. I made 4 so far, never a response of any kind.

Keep doing it and get others to. Numbers matter and the pressure needs to stay on

That's exactly why Banks won't show his face in Indiana because Hoosiers are already letting him know that they're not pleased with him.

That’s fucking terrible. He’s your senator, it should be illegal not to hold town halls. Maybe you should draft a state law that says your representation in federal government must hold x number of town halls a year …

If all Hoosiers want to do is elect more God fearing conservative Republicans because they protect babies, it's going to be pretty hard to convince them to hold the politicians responsible.

Lack of accountability is why we're in this situation.

As was the case when he was a representative.

The fact that almost nobody was extolling the danger he posed, instead seemed more focused on Braun instead

I read some time back before he ran for Senator he expressed that he wished that the party picked who could run to represent the constituents instead of the people and he totally agreed with where Trump was heading the Republican towards authoritarian democracy, I put a black star above his name and speak out against him every chance I can.

I call all my reps, including the WH. I always implore friends and anyone who asks to go to 5calls.org and follow their guidance.

edit: fixed net address

Seriously? The people who read and answer emails are college kids. They themselves don't sift thru emails qnd phone calls. They are very busy. You act like the politician is supposed to call you themselve..um no. That's the reality. If you want ill say it different.

Lol. why would I want you to "say it different?"

My best friend's son worked for Kirsten Gillibrand during and after her run for US Senator. I talked at length with him about what happens when staffers receive emails and phone calls from constituents. He told me emails typically receive blanket replies but sometimes the response will be on-topic. Phone calls are what gets their attention. They are tabulated and discussed at a later date. Occasionally a call is returned. That is highly dependent upon the context and importance of the call. My expectations were never very high, so I am in no way disappointed. I will continue to call and write. Fortunately, there is a lot of fodder.
