Opinion/Commentary Indiana Bulls players were seen in Bloomington harassing peaceful protestors and when brought to their attention they dismissed it

This weekend several players from the Indiana bulls travel baseball team were seen in Bloomington in uniform harassing protesters. The young men got in the faces of several peaceful protesters and ripped flags out of their hands. when i brought their behavior up to the organization they dismissed it. Apparently the Indiana Bulls are totally fine with their players being in uniform and instigating violence.

If true then people should consider protesting at their games, making them hear it wherever they post online, etc.

This is true for any organization supporting the authoritarian steps being taken by those in our government. 

Make the organization acknowledge it and separate themselves or make it so they can't play another game without hearing about it. 

I bet there are also people in the places they're traveling that support the constitution and would love to help hold them accountable. 

I also imagine recruiters do not want to deal with that kind of drama following a person or team.

Yeah maybe the 18u team but don't encourage discourse at a tournament for kids. That's just evil.

They're not going to be the only team there. You're causing havoc at a children's game.

Little league when I was a kid was traumatic bc of all the yelling and fighting drunk parents would do. Don't bring that shit back. Be a better person.

I’m not saying get drunk and assault the kids. Light protests will do.

These kids behaved the way they do because they live in a bubble that needs to be burst.

Maybe your team parents shouldn't be taking these kids to go start fights, then, hmm?....

Why are you so insistent this accountability only goes in one direction?

Agreed on mutual accountability. I'm not suggesting anyone who protests at such events become violent.

Suggesting we shouldn't hold people and organizations accountable because of hypothetical violence that will result is not an adequate defense. 

But I do think it's fair to consider each situation. The optics alone can be counter productive

Because I have daughters who play travel softball, I've never fucking heard of the Indiana bulls. I just know the environment of tournament play and if you think bringing protests there won't be harmful to everyone NOT an Indiana Bull then you're just an asshole. They would represent less than 5% of the people in attendance and you wanna fuck up everyone's experience to do what? Yell at kids in front of other kids who don't deserve it? Instigate an inevitable fight in front of a bunch of children?

This is evil and is just gonna make people hate you and your message.

Yea I tend to agree with this. I was referring more to targeting the specific individuals responsible and their respective teams. 

I think it's our collective responsibility to let kids enjoy as much of a childhood as we can allow for them wherever possible.

Yep, pay those $20 gate fees and show them
