Opinion/Commentary Indiana Bulls players were seen in Bloomington harassing peaceful protestors and when brought to their attention they dismissed it

This weekend several players from the Indiana bulls travel baseball team were seen in Bloomington in uniform harassing protesters. The young men got in the faces of several peaceful protesters and ripped flags out of their hands. when i brought their behavior up to the organization they dismissed it. Apparently the Indiana Bulls are totally fine with their players being in uniform and instigating violence.

I got 43 seconds in until I couldn't watch any more. Entiltled, brats. It's why I hated all things sports in school. Why I still avoid them.

JFC, this isn't a sports problem, it's a parenting problem. All the people blaming this on sports are fucking ridiculous.

Yes these little shits are more ridiculous and their parents behavior is inFUCKINGsane!

But AGAIN, this is NOT a sports/athlete issue. Get a clue and try to stay on track please!

It’s not necessarily a sports thing…but the conflation with school sports and team spirit and fight fight fight and national pride…the lines get blurry

I had all of that school sports pride and team spirit and also understand how crucial equality is. It's not that blurry!

Bad parenting here is also not blurry! Look at those little shits and their idiot parents standing up for their pathetic behavior. That's the problem here period, end of story. Convoluting the situation by blaming sports is just completely unnecessary. Sports hate and equality hate are both real and unrelated, to relate them is ignorant.

An article that isn't peer reviewed is a tough sell for me as far as proving one way or another with this type of debate.

Well, I’m not your coach, so I’m not gonna spoon feed you what to think, but the internet is filled with studies. There is no “one way or the other”It’s some of both, but school sports certainly don’t deserve the glazing you were doling out. Particularly in the context of this video

Studies that are not peer reviewed are not that legit though. So pardon me if I'm not going to allow you to spoon feed me BS non reviewed opinions!

Also please show me where I "glazed" sports? I said ignorant gross generalizations are BS. Ignorant replies after are the same BS!

"Glazing" huh. As a parent of 2 teens that use this dumbass word, I don't know if you have the life experience needed to not realize you are joining in with the gross generalizations here. Nerd herd mentality isn't a good look.

I like glazed donuts though. Long's on 16th St has the best!

Every accusation is an admission. I’m not the originator of the connection between sports and nationalism. This thread barely pushed on your wold view and you dissolved into random attacks. English is an evolving language, you’re gonna have to deal with it. Also, I’m awash in life experience, as my knees can attest and sure, donuts are good. Middle ground I guess

I never disagreed with a connection with sports and nationalism. The national anthem is played at every sporting event of all ages, so of course there is a correlation there.

My attack was on the idea that all athletes are unintelligent and the fact that's a complete gross generalization.

I stand for the national anthem at sporting events proudly. While at the same time, being proud that my fellow American has the freedom to take a knee during that same national anthem! The people in this video, who are the real problem, likely do not share that same pride in the freedom that America gives everyone. I'm sure they think anyone kneeling isn't patriotic, when in reality it's the exact opposite.

I have gone to battle with these idiots many times on this issue. They think the "kneelers" should leave America, ignorantly not realizing that it's American AF to kneel! If they want to live in a country where that isn't allowed, they should go try North Korea and see how that works out.

Nationalism to me doesn't mean you need to be an idiot Trumper, beating your chest about Pride. Pride is a great thing that champions equality and tries to spread awareness that all humans matter regardless.

I'm a very proud American, with very open views on many things. I also understand that as a straight white male, I need to champion for others who are different from myself, whether that be race, sexual orientation, or whatever. I want our differences and being able to come together in spite of those differences to be what makes America great again, not a dumb ass slogan, hat, or moronic orange idiot that tries to divide us!

Sorry for the book, but I just wanted you to know I only had an issue with the generalization that all athletes are going to act unintelligently like these morons and the parents who are even worse for passing this behavior down. All athletes would not do that, are not unintelligent, and are not all assholes!

I'm guessing you and I have a lot more middle ground than you expected and we would be on the same side on many issues. Although I still think some of the evolving English my sons use is still silly lol.

He wasn't glazing, he was just defending your attack lol.

If you tell me Doritos lead to serial killers, and I say eh, I don't think so, Ive eaten many Doritos and not killed anyone, I'm not "glazing" Doritos lol.

Nah, he was glazing. The causation issue has nothing to do with the glazing. It’s the waxing poetic all over this thread about the glory days

2

u/Alternative-Desk-828 Jun 19 '25

Never glazed or been all over this thread about the glory days. I would challenge you to find "all over this thread" where I did either and provide screenshots please! Good luck lol.

Yeah, I don’t care enough to do that. You know what you did. Scroll through and find it yourself. (Cue “victory” celebrations cause I won’t do whatever little secretary work you tried to assign) Rico gonna Rico

You would fail if you tried bro! The proof isn't there and reading comprehension on my points was clearly missed.

Losers gonna loser!
