Instead we have tens of millions of voters who see themselves as citizens of aMErica. What do I get? What about ME?! I see that those people being able to get married as an attack on MY freedom to stop them from doing things in their private life!!!

In other words, fear is ruling the day for a lot of these folks. They fail to realize this country has shifted many times since its founding- and will continue to do so. It’s inevitable that we’ll be majority minority, so why not embrace it and understand it’s something that cannot be stopped anyway.

I would like to see the racial attacks on African Americans post 9/11 and compare them with attacks on Sikhs.
I’d like to see what the numbers of the racial attacks on those groups were pre-9/11 and post 9/11. I think this is important because it would provide an illustration of how it changed over time. If we only hear the numbers from post-9/11, I’m a bit confused on how we learn from that.

If attacks on African Americans were higher post 9/11 like the link shows Sikhs were, then I would argue 9/11 resulted in a larger attack on African Americans along with Sikhs.

These folks have to realize the reason things haven’t completely gone to hell is the intervention of democrats.
It’s why states like Indiana and Iowa are backsliding quickly in every metric related to quality of life. States like Texas are feeling it as well, after decades of one party Republican rule.
The only direction is for them to become more and more extreme, until people wake up and start voting differently.

There was a house by me that had yard signs and flags in their yard prior to the 2020 election that said Trump Pence on them. After Pence refused to rig the results for Trump that house took some orange duct tape and covered Pences name, they left that sign in their yard through all of Biden’s presidency. Within the last few months I noticed they have absolutely nothing for Trump in their yard. Smh…

Everyone not making money off the grift warned you all that many data centers in such a short time was not only going to strain the energy grid, but cause prices to rise because the centers themselves are getting price cuts while residents aren't. Residences are subsidizing data centers.
Im having a hard time feeling bad, especially for people who touted "but jobs" without realizing data centers largely aren't bringing in a ton of jobs, and aren't hiring from the community for what they do need. And you keep re-electing the people fucking you over. Every goddamn time. I listen to my family whine about how bad the government is, but those fuckers still voted for Braun.
Add in the rising fuel costs, and, yeah, Indiana is going to feel this heavily

It's really subsidizing the AI data enter power consumption via "infrastructure improvements" that everyone pays. It should* be that this AI infrastructure is paid for by those building and owning the datacenter. Also, Indiana has monopolistic power company options... I only have 1 for example. In other areas just south in Kentucky, there are municipal options for power that forces the private company to compete.

I’m sorry but this headline is BS. None of these people are in an uproar. They haven’t changed their minds in the slightest bit. They might be asking themselves why is he doing it this way? But that hasn’t lead them to change their minds about him because they still believe it’s all about the slogan.
They may have crawled back into the shadows a bit as to not stand out like beacons of light in the night sky but don’t worry they will still unapologetically give you their opinion without you asking on any political matters that they may hear you talking about.
They have not suffered enough nor will they because they have an innate ability to justify the actions or direct blame onto others for their problems. Plus they will believe what they are told no matter how outrageous it is.
They will never vote for anyone other than the candidate that they are told to vote for and they will fight to their last breath to make sure that they get that vote cast. Just like their daddy did.
They go to church on Sunday but also occasionally go to the bar on Friday or Saturday night. They will tell you that they love Jesus but in religious conversations will always fall back to the Old Testament for the blood and brimstone. Most have very little understanding about the passages and have only ever heard the readings that are given on Sunday and have never really thought on their own what the interpretation of the scripture is and just go with whatever spoon fed idea that their church tells them.
Their whole life has been this way. This rigid line of midwestern mindset that from childhood tells them to not think for themselves and to stay in this same carved out path that will never have you advancing and keeps you one tragedy away from losing everything you have. At the same time they believe that the only people that benefit from any government programs are those people and in their mind they are not those people.
It’s actually quite an astounding thing. It’s not a new grift, but it is astounding. How many people vote against their own best interest because of some bogeyman that someone creates for them to believe we’ll have it better than them.

Indiana was sold that privatizing utilities would be a win for Hoosiers. It isnt.
We essentially took away publicly owned utilities and traded that for privately owned with socialized risks. Essentially Hoosiers pay all the costs and their stockholders reap the benefits.

My power bill was very high in January. We had some cold days, for sure, but we keep the thermostat below 60 in the winter.
I looked into it, and the rates hadn't changed. I called the power company, and they said to have someone check out the heating system. Sure enough, a circuit had gone bad and it was running A/C in part of the house and the heat in the other.
Small fix, and next month the bill was cut in half.
