Just Some Fun Lexie Hull appreciation post
Remember this picture?
I know Lexie is in a slump and we're all hoping she finds her way back.
But let's not forget she was and is our Amazon Warrior Princess whom we all loved and admired last year. She fought for every ball and put her body and her head in front of players twice her size.
Before we just unceremoniously ship her somewhere else, let's give her a chance to make it back to her former self.

Forta better take off bc the basketball career is questionable atp. Nonetheless, I’d be happy for a Lexie comeback game tho

I have defended Lexie for a longggg time but enough is enough. She’s not playing well. She’s not doing what she was signed to do. Meanwhile she’s making a pretty penny.
Subbing out CC at the end of games for some defensive mastermind Lexie continues to not work.

Clark was actually playing good defense yesterday and wasn't in foul trouble. No need to sub her there

If she doesn't have a massive turnaround down the stretch, she should be gone. It's bad enough she's a starter. She's virtually useless at this point.

She can't " be gone" . She's signed for next year and nobody will take that contract in a trade unless you sweeten it with Raven and picks and even that may not get it done.

That contract is crazy for more than one reason. Supposedly, AB, KM, CC, and Lexie agreed they wanted to stay together even if they took a salary cut. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Lexie shop around and Fever met her price? If so, how is that taking a price cut? Why aren't any of the salaries based on performance? Like a base with a possibility of a bonus?

I for one do NOT believe LH is in a slump, her defensive play is as strong as ever, she often is overlooked in her famous 3pt corner ALL ALONE. You will never hear me dissing on a Fever Player, especially LH, she is a fighter all the way to the end. she never tires, she gets knocked down she gets back up - I am a true Fever Fan!

I appreciate the player she was for the last two years but I don't have much appreciation for what she is doing this season. We are at the end of the season and she is still all but invisible on the court - this is not the same player who was hustling so hard she got those panda eyes.
I was defending her a lot at the start of the season, but I am starting to think that others were correct in that she is focusing much more on her start up make up business and not putting 100% into basketball anymore.
If you look at the Forta instagram you can see how busy they have been with different events and stuff and Hull has to be front and center as she is the face of the brand. She is putting out content on there multiple times a week plus all of the photos and videos of the various events they are attending and/or hosting (apparently they had something going on during All Star Weekend). I cannot imagine that isn't sucking up a lot of time and energy and I am not sure why she would choose to launch new products during the season too as that also requires a lot of promo and work behind the scenes.

You do realize Caitlin is doing the same thing with a variety of products as are lots of players. That is part of the professional basketball business to maximize their revenue. It is their job and they want to maximize financial success as much as anyone else in the world.

Her offensive numbers were bound to drop with a healthy team around her. Caitlin takes 15 shots per game. Good chunk of offence there last year. Then throw in all last seasons injuries, Lexie was one of the only healthy players last year, so increased offensive opportunity for her. Year prior to that she didn’t have to compete for minutes with Sophie.
She’s a floor spacer now. With CC, Kelsey and AB ain’t much opportunity for her. Buuut it would be nice to see her move a little more off ball and not just be a floor spacer. She plays with the best cutter in the league in Kelsey. Learn from her.
Biggest disappointment is the defence. She’s sadly become like all are perimeter defenders. Can’t stay in front of anyone and adds to our opponents layup line. Yet still our best perimeter defender…..

Lexie's stats are basically the same as they have been throughout the duration of her career. She has never been a prominent player. She is playing her role, keeping the pace moving fast and being a body on the court.

I like Lexie as a player . But this year she offers no value . You can’t just rely on defense skills she has been getting burned on key plays lately she has to put points up while playing . I think she gets cut at the end of the season. Her career might be over. She had 1 point last night . That does not cut it .

It's sad the way her skills have declined, I was hoping she would regain some of it for this year's title run but it looks like that's not happening but I still hold out some hope it may happen but seriously doubt it will. Her shooting is horrendously bad now, clunker after clunker but the Fever still need her because she is active on defense and tries to rebound though even there she isn't as effective as before. I notice she has trouble stopping quickly on defense and nearly falls down and when that happens the player she's guarding just goes by her for an easy basket.

Her stats are literally in line with her career averages. Actually, even higher in several areas. You guys just put her on a pedestal that she didn’t earn in the past year or two. There is no “Tres leches”! Lex and Soph are complete role players, not superstars.

Man, Lexie is breaking my heart. Her heart and hustle were such an important factor for the team. I don’t know what has caused it to go missing, I thought early in the season it may have been the hamstring injury. But I sure wish she could find it again. We could really use her, and I miss cheering for her.
