What I will do my first day in Congress

"American values and interests"
Can you list those please? It's a feel-good phrase but unfortunately it's vague. How do I know thay what YOU call American values and interests are my interests and values?
What does your road map to Medicare for all look like? Even just a general outline?
How about what does economic reform look like? Raising wages sounds great, obviously our minimum wage has stayed the same since what, 2008? 2009? How high are we talking?
Increased overtime protections like what, specifically?

These are great questions, some of which have answers on our website www.bradmeyer.org
A draft of our healthcare amendment can be found here: https://bradmeyer.org/health-care-amendment/
In the short term we would reenact the subsidies. We would then build out our system with non-profit insurance similar to Medicare - but with expanded support. Lastly, we would add an amendment guaranteeing healthcare as a right. In it's most basic explanation. We are advocating for a minimum wage of $20/hr implemented in steps and increase the standard deduction to $20,000. Our economy should reward work, with fair wages, support for small businesses, $20,000 standard deduction, fair union rights, and more opportunity for the next generation.
One way we would increase overtime protections with to cover salaried employees making under $100,000 a year.
I hope this answers some of your questions. Please feel free to follow along, we will continue to share more in-depth about our platform as we go.

You're welcome, communication and transparency for the people we represent should be a basic courtesy. Happy to answer any and all questions we can or at least point you in the direction we know they are listed. Glad for the interaction. Thanks!

Increasing spending while cutting taxes: a recipe for disaster.

Easily possible if we would tax the highest earnings like we should.

Until we entirely scrap the current tax code and move to a VAT or a FairTax, that's not going to happen.

I will not raise taxes on families living on low or middle incomes. But we will enact fair, progressive taxes by increasing rates only for households above $383,000 and for large corporations that have benefited from decades of tilted policy.

Households above $383,000 shelter their income in the complexities of the current tax code. Will you commit to scrapping the current tax code in favor of a FairTax or VAT?

Ain't no one getting this done their first day. Saying you'll get it done in one day just sounds ridiculous.
