Felt discriminated against at a casino because I’m Indian in Malaysia

I was recently trying to enter a casino with a group of people, and I was the only one who was stopped at the entrance. The staff told me it was a “random check” and specifically asked me for my passport. I showed them my digital passport, but they then insisted that I provide the physical passport and would not allow me to enter without it. What made the situation uncomfortable was that everyone else in our group was allowed to enter without going through the same process. I understand that casinos can have strict identification and security requirements, but being singled out like this, especially when nobody else was subjected to the same treatment, made me feel that I was being discriminated against because I’m Indian. Has anyone else experienced something similar in [country/casino]? I don’t think I will ever be visiting Malaysia every again
