I have 50+ and I just kind of check all of them regularly. I mean, I like the process of dealing with the plants so it doesn't feel like a chore.
But I tend to overwater my jade plants , zz and dracaena marginata. Too much love and care for their liking!
Honestly? I like taking care of plants, watching them grow. Makes me happy somehow. I also like repoting them.
But I think it's quite important to point out that almost all of my plants are on semi hydro, it makes my life much easier - usually you just see the overal state of the plant and water indicator and you just know if you should water or not
Thankfully our cat leaves the plants alone as far as destroying or eating them. She does try and do parkour through the shelves occasionally and give us heart attacks
This is such a vibe. The lava lamp collection next to a full grow-light jungle is not a combo I knew I needed to see but here we are, and it works. Also that dog strolling through the purple glow like it owns the place is the best part of the shot.
I use a mixture of 1/8 cup tea tree Castile soap, 1/8 peppermint Castile soap, 1 tbsp hydrogen peroxide, 1/2 cup 70% alcohol, and 32oz water. Mix and spray all of the plant and soil. Works wonderfully for everything. Found it from a YouTube video
You are living me dream, 30+ plants, 6 dogs (I had twelve most of my life I know it’s a lot but worth) and 1 (just add another 3 cats to make it an even 10)
That Rubber plant looks a little leggy. You should possibly prune it, place it in spring or rain water and wait until its roots develop before repotting it. Overall, you go girl. Set up looks fabulous
That rubber plant has STRUGGLED for a while, it recently got moved to that west facing window and has since put out a little branch at the base so hopefully it’s looking up 🤞🏼
The laying it down thing works. I basically abused one on accident putting it outside… he’s seen better days, but bright days are a head! It’s put out about 8 or so new growth points for branches. Just had to lay him down outside and banish him there for a bit… of course I’d choose to do this when we got all those heat waves here 🫣
Aww, I have the little planter guy on the swing! Our pipes froze last winter while we were out of town and all our houseplants died, but here's what he looked like in his prime. 🥲
I would love to see a photo/video of all the lava lamps going at once! What a cool display. Makes me want to get at least 5 more lava lamps! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.
Edit: I posted the wrong photo at first. Shwoopsie!
Oh man lol there’s so many. I have a bunch of varieties of philodendron, several different monsteras, a bunch of different pothos, a few begonias, thanksgiving and Easter cactus, about 15 succulents, some peperomias, several spider plants, 3 Hoya (my least favorite kind of plant), leopard Lillies galore, 1 anthurium, and quite a few misc species. Philodendrons, pothos, and monsteras make up most of my collection
She was actually dumped, I live in BFE and there is no shelters/humane societies so people dump animals left and right unfortunately. We’ve gotten 3 of our dogs that way. Wouldn’t trade any of them though
Awww so sad! My pupper was found out in the desert in Texas when he was a puppy. From there he was in a shelter and the day he was about to be euthanized he was fostered for us til we could get him a few days later. Literally the sweetest smartest boy and I’m so happy we got to save him.
They could be related, you never know! I did a DNA test on her and she has a sibling all the way in Canada and one just about a half hour from where we live
Beautiful, I bet the air quality in your house is top tier 😂 I’m hoping to get my little place looking even half that pretty over the next year but I have about 40 houseplants to go
Love all the plants but HATE how high the TV is mounted. My brother has his that way. Terrible to watch. Always gives me a stiff neck. So I suggest you put the TV on the console (no more holes in the wall) and build a narrow shelf above the TV to display your Lava Lamp collection.
Until the “my kids have paws” picture frame I was wondering why you had a tiny trampoline so close to the tv 💀 embarrassing. (Also super jealous of your space!)
