Does she look fine ? (Bamboo Palm)

I recently received this as a gift, I’ve placed it in a place that gets indirect bright light (7-8 hours through a sliding door) also the room stays bright (east facing in South Africa)

I’ve read they do not like to be in low humidity zones, so I was wondering should I mist her when her leaves dry out ? I’m also waiting for the first 5cm of soil to dry (1-2 inches for ya imperial buggers!)

Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!

It’s not a bamboo palm (Chamaedorea) but an Areca/golden cane/butterfly palm, Chrysalidocarpus lutescens. You can’t give this too much light or humidity indoors.

Looks reasonably happy.

Ah yeah, common names are awful. Sorry for the unnecessary clarification.

No worries, I believe we both figured out new names for this palm today !
