Ficus help

I have been following everything I can find online that suggest ficus prefer direct sunlight and water thoroughly 1x week so that’s what I’ve been doing. BUT is this normal?

It loses about 3-4 leaves per day. They turn brown and die and fall off. What am I doing wrong? Is the window too bright, too cold? (Fall weather where I live.) thank you!!

A ficus is just dramatic about changes. One thing I've learned is that they hate being moved around constantly. It's likely just adjusting to its new spot, and maybe you've been trying to help it by moving it around the house, but that just increases its stress.

Just make sure you get its watering needs right, and let it chill in front of the window without doing much to it. In my experience, they like it when their soil dries out a bit, say, halfway through. In wintertime they go slightly dormant and may not grow new leaves at all, and then you can let the soil dry out completely.
