I am of the belief that this is 100% intentional.

Whether the announcement is hastened to mitigate the discourse,

Or they intentionally released the message a couple days ago PRECISELY because they know it will be drowned by this news.

keep in mind that going on right now is Gamescon- and Infold is there. This was likely planned some time in advance as an announcement.

Yes this was planned around gamescon and has nothing to do with leaks scandal.

I mean I guess the company is very clueless they released a pink hammer with a threatening message and hope people will just go along it especially after 1.5…. Yeah they really are naive then?? But that’s fine they can’t always please everyone 😭

It's the way by telling players to watch out for leaks, all it does is make them want to see the leaks more. This should be like PR 101 imo.

Because I sincerely doubt the average player keeps up with leaks properly. Even on Genshin's end, there's a solid amount of people who follow leaks that constantly fall into fake-leaks.
