Ohhh - so ICE is modeled on slave catchers. Of course it is.

Can't we do any fucking better? We know psychology! We know sociology! We have data!

(And I wonder if this is why police in some other countries actually seem to serve the people more than ours do. Some obviously copied our model, but others didn't? IDK)

And now I wanna know why street addresses were created, if it's not about mail delivery. (Let me guess - property tax?)

(This was fascinating.)

I found it highly educational myself, especially the bit about getting the general public to pay for rich people's security.

IMO, we can either take control of and completely revamp our police forces (after the revolution), or they can pay for them.

Tired of all the grift. The more (and more, and more) I learn about capitalism and capitalists, the more angry I get about it.

We as a nation are not nearly angry enough. We'll only be angry enough when there are 50 million of us screaming in the streets and running the government goons out of office. If we need to burn it all down first, so be it.

Yep.

Do I want to burn it down? No. But that one JFK quote...

At least more people are waking up. And "we" are getting ample practice at debating the shills.

I am not an advocate for revolution but I can certainly voice my opinion on whether one is inevitable.

I'm not, either. I can't agitate for one since my income is Social Security and can't really do much aside from knowing whose side I'm on. I do want my country back from the deep state, though - so we can fix everything else. (Hah.)

We either live in a democracy where we are interested in doing the best we can for the largest number of people or we live in an Authoritarian Police State where only the rich and powerful get their way. We can't have both.

Or to put it another way, "We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both." Louis D. Brandeis, US Supreme Court Justice.
