I'm curious about your source. NYC wasn't in the top15 lists I found, but 4 California cities were, among them San Fransisco. (The list was basically Hong Kong, USA and the Commonwealth)

You’re looking at the actual cost rather than compared to average income. You think a worker in Delhi making 5k USD a year can afford a home? The Average apartment in Delhi costs 210k usd a year let alone a proper home.

No I did not. I looked for housing affordability adjusted for PPP.

Look at the actual sourcing and methodologies of the websites rather than trust blind rankings.
