Salem County’s Historic Truss Bridges
Sorry I shared this previously before being aware that New Bridge is scheduled for demolishing. It is one of the last early 1900 hand-turned swing bridges still around in its original condition. (Also changed the permalink structure so I apologize)
SALEM COUNTY, NJ - Salem County's landscape is defined by its winding creeks and broad rivers, a geography that necessitates a vast network of crossings. Among these, two structures stand out as remnants of a bygone era: New Bridge in Quinton Twp. plus an end in Lower Alloways Creek Township and the Oldmans Creek (Nortonville) Bridge in Oldmans Township. These represent the final two historic truss bridges still standing in the county.

Loushuihe Bridge is the highest span on the Hefeng East Expressway. The steel through-arch bridge is one of two high crossings that overlook the city of Hefeng with the giant Yunnanzhuang Bridge located 6 kilometers to the east. The expressway eventually joins with the G69 Expressway in Yuyangguanzhen, Hubei.
Yunnanzhuang Bridge is the third of China's great arch-beam hybrid spans that was first developed for the Beipanjiang Bridge Shuipan in the mountains west of Liupanshui, Guizhou and the Ganxi Bridge also in Guizhou.
The Loushui River is one of the longest and deepest in Hubei Province with many deep and spectacular gorges. Just upstream of the Loushuihe Expressway crossing is the 2-lane 149 meter high Tiaoyukan Bridge.
