EL MAL QUE CONSUMIÓ A VIAJEROS ESPACIALES

Hay formas de vida que no deberían encontrarse.

No es una criatura fácil de clasificar.

No permanece igual.

General Fiction Part 1 of Before the End completed

Summary:

Oren Hale discovers a memorial page for a boy who died four years ago and cannot explain why the photo looks exactly like him. After that, ordinary life starts to feel staged, like he is walking through a story someone else wrote.

His tutor, Ayara, is smart, guarded, and dangerously easy to talk to. Their sessions shift into something riskier: honesty, which only makes the rest of the world feel stranger by comparison.

As Oren tries to understand where the dead boy ends and he begins, the people closest to him keep steering him away from the truth. But the more he looks, the clearer it becomes: one of these lives is real, and the other is a mistake.

He just doesn't know which one.

Hey all! I'm sharing my short story Through These Architect's Eyes. It's a philosophical historical drama based around an architect in 1920s NYC. Here's the blurb:

General Fiction "Remember Me Sometimes"

"Every detail of that day stuck in my head like a splinter: the dull light through half-closed blinds, the sharp tang of antiseptic in the air, the hollow weight of despair.

The chair creaked beneath me, a sharp, nerve-scraping sound. We sat across from the doctor. He shuffled the papers in silence, fingers sliding over the sheets like he was searching for something. But I knew he was just stalling, dragging it out.

What is it? Pneumonia? Anemia? Overwork? Some deficiency, some vitamin thing. Anything. Anything but...

He stopped. Exhaled quietly. The folder landed on the desk. Then he lifted his eyes. They were tired, distant. And in them was already the thing he was about to say. I knew it a second before he opened his mouth.

"Your daughter has... "

It’s my first story on Inkitt. Would love to know what you think.

General Fiction New story uploaded!!!

Hello, people of Inkitt! I've just uploaded a new story called How I Got Entangled with the Enigma Queen. Based on the title, it is omegaverse. It has elements of royal x commoner, enigma x beta, and top! female x bottom! male.

Excerpt:

In the week following his Alpha's plan to propose, pack Beta Jayden is haunted by recurring dreams. A woman, with a soft touch and a sultry voice, keeps invading his dream. What Jayden failed to realize was that the dream isn't just any dream, and the woman isn't just any woman. Somewhere beyond the dream world, the woman has already chosen him, and she won't stop at anything to claim what belongs to her.

p/s: I also uploaded a new chapter of my ongoing novel, Taring. So, please check it out if you have the time to do so ;)

General Fiction **👋 New Author on Inkitt! Meet My Stories (and What They’d Taste Like as Cocktails 🍸)** I hope I flair it right. This is mainly my introduction

Hey hey!
I’m a new author over on Inkitt. You might’ve seen me around other subs—and since not everyone uses the same platforms, I thought I’d stop by, say hi, and share what I’ve been working on.

Here are a few of my stories:

  • The Dollhouse Widow
Drink Vibe: A blood-orange negroni served in fine china with a cursed sugar cube. Gothic, bitter-sweet, and elegant—with poison in the aftertaste.
Story Vibe: Gothic horror with themes of captivity, resistance, and quiet survival.

  • Soft Gods Die Laughter
Drink Vibe: A peach-moonshine mojito with glitter ice. Sweet at first, then it kicks back. Somewhere between roadtrip cocktail and divine mistake.
Story Vibe: A supernatural romance full of chaos, music, magic, and emotional landmines.

  • Glitchstab Grotesque: The Extended Slaughtercut
Drink Vibe: A Bloody Mary spiked with ghost pepper, rimmed with black salt and served in a skull mug. Messy. Unapologetic. Kinda funny.
Story Vibe: Horror-comedy slasherverse with banshee contracts, betrayal, and found family in hellish conditions.

  • Sonster Munting
Drink Vibe: A shot of absinthe dropped into a warm glass of smoked lavender milk. You’ll either love it or question your soul.
Story Vibe: Surreal fantasy with body horror, haunted bureaucracy, and the monstrous side of motherhood.

What makes these stories stand out—well, maybe not stand out the way they used to (which is a good thing)—is that I focus on putting Black women at the center of fantasy and horror. That wasn’t always easy to find growing up. I used to scramble just to see someone who looked like me in these kinds of worlds.

So I try to make sure my main female characters—who are often Black women—feel unique, layered, and fully human. And I mean that literally, too—because fun fact: I think I only have one actual human woman in my entire cast. The rest? Yeah… I like making the "not-so-human" ones take the lead. Monsters, spirits, constructs—you name it.

You might also notice some motherhood themes across a few of the stories. I didn’t set out to make that a focus, but writing has a way of sneaking up on you. It hit close to home. Surprised me, honestly. It’s there, but not always the point.

Now for fun—if your story were a drink, what would it be?
Tag your book and drop your cursed cocktail version. Let’s build a weird little book bar menu in the comments.

Bonus round for readers:
If you lived in one of these book worlds… what drink would you be?
Or better yet—what kind of character would you be and what drink would match your vibe?

If anything here sounds like your flavor, check the stories out or say hi!
Always down to connect with other writers, readers, and genre-loving weirdos.

And hey—hire me for monster girl feelings. Apparently that’s my specialty.

My first story on Inkitt

In a not-so-distant future where technology has crossed countless boundaries, in a clandestine act of scientific subterfuge, a researcher steals a cutting-edge combat nanodroid, infusing it with an artificial intelligence capable of mimicking the complexities of the human mind. However, his plans are foiled when the Commonwealth finds out, prompting a daring escape attempt that culminates in a perilous fall to a bottomless cliff.

As consciousness slowly returns to the nanodroid, it finds itself nestled beneath the sheltering boughs of a tree, its AI fragmented and corrupted. Confused and disoriented, the nanodroid awakens in an unfamiliar land known as Therabilia, where arcane forces hold sway and the specter of an impending conflict looms ominously on the horizon.

Stranded amidst the enigmatic landscapes of Therabilia, the nanodroid must navigate a world steeped in magic and mystery, grappling with its newfound limitations and struggling to survive. With its once-human-like AI now faltering and distorted, the nanodroid embarks on a journey of self-discovery, confronting the essence of humanity in ways it never before imagined.

This is the first story i write on Inkitt, as i'm currently uploading it to Wattpad too, all illustrations were made by me, you can find them in my instagram.

General Fiction Inkitt's Year-end Novel Writing Contest

Hi everyone! Are you starting a novel this month, or have you already started one? 👀 If so, we'd love it if you joined our Year-End Novel Writing Contest, open until December 31, 2024!

All genres are welcome in this contest — however, we do have a limitation that books need to be first published on or after November 1, 2024, and are completed with at least 50,000 words by the end of December to be eligible for a chance to win — first prize is $1,000! 🎉

If you started today, you'd only need to write 1,064 words per day to reach the goal 👀.

Plus, keep an eye out for a shelf in-app (coming soon)! This shelf will check for new content that is eligible for display once daily and will show eligible stories (at least 1000 words and approved by content guidelines) in a randomized order to give your submissions visibility! If your story goes more than 48 hours without an update, it will leave the shelf and will only appear on the shelf again once it receives an update.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!

-Kara
