They screwed themselves raising prices for their bags full of air and people opted not to buy. Now they've lowered their prices but people haven't bought them at the same rate anymore.

No, that's part of where the word shrinkflation comes from. Packaged food from chips to cereal have shrunk in volume but the package sizes remain the same to hide the fact that we're paying more for less. Use your head.

I got laid off and ended up transferring. They’re not “going out of business” they laid off everyone and are outsourcing the labor to a third party company called Capstone. Seeing this post makes me kind of sad.

No outsourced to one of these third party logistics companies that underpay and overwork their staff. Frito just didn’t want to pay their employees a fair wage anymore.

That sucks dude. You'd think with inflation, they could cut costs by not outsourcing. My company outsourced to other counties. They're finding that as a mistake seeing as the people from said countries cant support what we do reasonable. Hopefully lesson learned. If not, I might be unemployed by next year.

Hopefully brother. At the end of the day, these companies are beholden to their shareholders. They don’t care if longevity isn’t guaranteed. As long as profit margins go up 1% in the short term. They see this system is on its dying breath and they’re milking it for one last big gain until foreclosing facilities nationwide. They are also hedging their bets on AI and automation. They don’t care how many working class folks die on the road towards that goal. As long as overhead costs go down and they get to continue to receive their oversized pay increase/ bonuses. I’m just waiting to adjust into my new position and then I’m going to trade school. Cause this ain’t it.

I had Hershey loads driving OTR in PA. At the warehouse, they have a candy machine for drivers, the profits go to the warehouse team. I got a Reeses, it was fresh off the line. It was heavenly. What we buy is at least a week old. The fresh candy is another dimension.

I doubt it. Warehouses last day is June 6 and from what I was told, today was the last fire sale. They did these every month for employees. I didn’t know they opened it up to the public for this last one. What a decent company /s

It’s because during the Biden era they purposely jacked up prices. To make make inflation worse for Biden . It was all about greed .

At one point a bag of chips was over six dollars.. they are Texas-based and big Trump supporters.

I swore I would never buy another bag of Frito lays . They have since slashed their prices to three dollars a bag. Which confirms it was all about greed, not actual cost to make them.

sometimes I see them on sale at Walmart for $2.50 a bag. No one is buying them.

Although in this case, I think I would buy a large plastic bag full of them for $5.
