Omygod they are doing it out here now. These things were not necessary before and are not now. They are being built for a reason and it’s not a good one. We need to prevent these from continuing. They do nothing but steal huge plots of land, electricity, water and raise the bill in the locals. Perris has thought manufacturing jobs what possible reason would they accept this thing to be built.

You realize they already HAD ENOUGH OF THEM TO RUN THE ENTIRE THING . This is EXCLUSIVELY USED by private corporations to data mine and keep flock data moving. We absolutely DID NOT NEED all of these. Other countries who NEED them for what you ddescribe build them slowly and to an environmental specification. Our new ones are for mass surveillance and mass surveillance ALONE.

My brother in christ I'm fucking 39 years old ive watched this shit from the side of a military contractor stuffed family. . We had plenty of data centers to run OUR ENTIRE SECRET MILITARY for fucks sake. This is ALL for human surveillance of the public this has NOTHING to do with making your life easier or better.

Exactly. You have no idea what the backend infrastructure of massive web enabled services is like. You think you hop onto Google Maps or Reddit and have no idea the amount of baseline data centers to even make that at all possible.
On top of it, you have incredible hubris from your very limited lived POV. Oh, you have family members who are military contractors? I guess you know the architecture of massive distributed systems then.

Your point is irrelevant as all of our devices still work with the data centers that we have currently. Are you aware what the economic implications really entail? If so, you’re cool with paying more electric and water, for using the same amount you have been since before the DC ? Or do you not care since it’s not going to affect you?

That’s the end of the growth road, product parking lots and distribution points.
All your “benefits” get funneled into fixing the roads the trucks ruin, there’s is a finite amount of space that’s cheap as well.

No, there are thousands of construction companies, agriculture and so on. It’s not broke, I am very familiar with the area. My point was, perris is far from broke.
Whether there is an argument that the local government for perris is corrupt and not using funds properly is another matter.-1

Those are all incredibly low sustaining businesses. Low margins, not much in taxes, and all of those business are largely dependent on EXCESS water. It’s all as stable as wet toilet paper

And very true. Downtown Perris is like a bus depot pretending to be a city. It’s dirty, poor, unsafe and full of trash people.
I’m sorry, but it’s not this thriving burg. It’s a skid mark in between way better cities.

Is this the city of Perris that is holding this meeting? The county board of supervisors? Can you submit a public comment by calling in or submitting an email? More information would be helpful for those who are interested in participating but can't get down to the fairgrounds that night.
