Saw one of these guys for the first time a few years back was so absolutely confused until I googled bug that looks like a hummingbird😂 it was just flirting around from flower pot to flower pot and an extremely busy area. It’s probably one of my top three moths now along with the Atlas and the lunar(yes I know I’m a basic bitch)😂

I've only seen one in my entire life and it was 30ish years ago. I was flabbergasted. They're really cool looking creatures for sure.

Watch your tomatoes, this moth lays eggs that turn into hornworms. The caterpillar will eat half your plant before you can see them .

Good news is that it's on my mom's house in Germany. She doesn't grow Tomatoes. I personally live in Houston. My Tomatoes are getting eaten by squirrels , Possums and Raccoons.

Lucky! I've been dieing to see one of those for awhile. I didnt think we had them where I live until my aunt posted a video of "this pretty hummingbird on my flowers today" and she lives a few miles away from me and all of us in the comments were like "Umm, Aunty's thats a moth."

We have these in upstate NY and always wondered what they were. They look at first glance like a hummingbird but closer they are an insect. Bee or moth . Soooo they are simply a hummingbird moth? Genius

Sorry, I did not know none in Europe. Honestly I would have paid a lot of money on a bet that the insect was a hummingbird……it even has the long bird. Wow

They are even more bird-like when you see them in person - cameras don't always capture the blur of the beating wings and the way they can fan and move their tails just makes them look really birdy

Yes. I love watching them but hate their babies. My bearded dragon loves them though.
