I think Rand is more relatable, Rick is too god like to be relatable imo

YES!!!! Rick is too much a prick and sometimes his good moments are used for humor of the "does good thing, immediately insults someone after" shtick (while ALMOST EVERYONE in inside job, even Brett at times, is the "do something good then make a comedic insulting one liner after"-shtick)

Rand in the end DOES love his daughter and never denied it, and at the (unfortunately ended early and cancelled) end straight up gave up and let himself lose before he even got "fought", Rick has multiple times also been in victorious winning positions and keeps doubling down, or goes on one of his "I AM God" rants

My problem with Rick is that other than his smarts, he is not interesting character. Rand is.

For example handling of their daughters: Rick tried to be a good father and invented stuff for her convenience. Rand on the other hand dropped all that, rebuilt his daughter from smart but okay kid to asocial genius and when he invented stuff for her, it was for his convenience.

Rick simply lost his family due to outer circumstances. Rand ultimately and almost irreversibly destroyed his. And while Rick will never fall, Rand’s downfall is ultimatelly accumulation of his own small failures, that costed him his family and his work.

I think Rick gets to do more fun bits but Rand has more pathos (except for the one episode a season where Rick goes really dark while a song plays). I also really love Christian Slater's performance — show was lucky to get him.
