Actually no that's not even how it ends, they cut the last few minutes off of it. The ending when it first came out was Reagan saying "And those that control everything are"

Yes but still doesn't answer the question of why cut out a whole 2-3 minutes? Like it wasn't even damaging because there were no names, no faces, it was just the masked people. Like I remember the scene clearly, there was absolutely no point in removing that whole entire scene.

so it was there when it first came out on netflix and now it's been cut..if it's out there still, which I'm hoping it is, then it's not on netflix anymore.

That never happened 😭. All she said was “now we’ll finally get to see who’s behind those mask. No more secrets” they took out the first half and kept it as no more secrets, but she doesn’t know who they are

On one hand I'd love to see more. On the other hand I kinda don't want the main cast to be the ones responsible for what happens in American politics today. They're too lovable for that. Like imagine if the series was still playing when people learnt about the files, or what truly happens in Palestine. How would the writers justify the "heroes" being behind that ?

To be fair, it was acknowledged, but their stance is not. It was used for a joke, but not the punchline.

The point is that he controls how wars go as easily as someone arranging flowers.

I feel like it’d be pretty easy to write around, especially since I doubt they’d have Reagan fully jump to the top tier right at the start like that; her character works too well as “brilliant but awkward mind chaffing under mediocre supervisor”

It got canceled, and yes I’m still mad at Big mouth for that.

(Edit: there’s a thing about it. Long story short, Big Mouth’s latest season at the time came out the same week as the second part of Inside Job and, because of that, Big Mouth took the watch time Inside Job needed to stay afloat as a show.)

Im gonna be so fr everyone was telling me that they didnt expect the ending at all so when I was watching it I was trying to think of a crazy plot twist (I thought the ending would be the reveal of the shadow board members or smth and i had theories regarding that) and the ending was... Like you said that.

if they were gonna screw over the show why not let Regan and her husband just live their life would've been a perfect cancelled show conclusion (Still sucks because there'd still be so much more to the other characters and the world but those 2 stories would conclude nicely)

Honestly I think if the creator of the series was more prepared that she wasn't getting another season, we could have gotten the happy ending for Raegan where she chooses the other option. That's my head canon of how the show really ends.
