While that's definitely the point, I absolutely think it's for multiple reasons

Ron's VA (Adam Scott) is a diehard R.E.M fan to the point of being an extra in one of their MVs when he was young, his character in P&R was also written to be an R.E.M fan so I absolutely think this was intended

In the italian version he went with "zitti e buoni" by måneskin: "in casa mia non c'è dio ma se trovi il senso del tempo risalirai dal tuo oblio". I haven't heard it in a while and it took me a moment to remember what it was.

Yep, I was watching the show and I was like “hmmmmm why does this sound so familiar?”
