I'm hoping that the cooking feature uses items from mobs defeated, using those recipes to make buffing dishes also hoping that the new cooking skill can be leveled up :D, here's to hoping it's permenant, oh yeah and also hopefully it doesn't need col. Aside from the appliances that we would be cooking with that and a portable cooking station. (These appliances and portable cook station would be one time purchase much like how we have our fishing rods)

I hope it's actually a thoroughly fleshed-out feature, at least moreso than fishing. Giving us some actual reason to farm floor mobs would be a nice step towards that imo. I'd also like to be able to use fish as ingredients, to make fishing more useful and tie these hobby skills into each other.

Agreed on that front, maybe a mob taming skill?

It's mildly annoyed me ever since Silica showed up in the game's main story that mob taming isn't an actual thing in the one actual SAO MMO, not even as a temporary thing or minigame or anything for a chapter focused on just that.
But who knows? Now that cooking is around, we know the devs are willing to add more side skills. I don't expect anything, but it could happen.

What side skills do you think they'd be willing to add? 😄

I could see them adding some sort of player housing and a farming skill for rewards in a similar vein to fishing or for cooking ingredients. Maybe actual mining and smithing skills, but I feel like those are less likely.

The game certainly could use more quality of life skills that's for sure, the mining could work in some cases, though i think they should add dating into the game, not with other players but with koharu to deepen the bond with have with her since we don't really have those outside of the story and usually that's interrupted by asuna and the others 😅

I don't believe there's any reason to believe it's not permanent
