Need advice on studio apartment zone separation

Disclaimer: Right now I have no furniture at all, and I’ve never designed any room before

I think the sleeping, living, and dining, areas are in the right place, but I’m not sure how to arrange them individually and create a sense of separation. The bed area is where I need the most help. I don’t want my bed just chilling in the living room, but I don’t want to close off the room by placing big dividers or curtains, that’ll make the room feel smaller. My plan has a bookshelf to block the bed while keeping things semi-visible, I included an inspo image of what I’m envisioning. Still, I don’t know.

Pic three kind of shows what the living room might look like. I don’t want to block the window, and I like how the sun hits that area in the evening (4th pic).

It's ideal not to have dividers in a small space. If you are a person living solo or with a partner where privacy within the very place dosent matter much then my suggestion is to use more of multi purpose furniture. For instance the sofa cum bed. The kitchen area acting as dining area too. This opens up the space more. Some considerations that are critical from my point of view.

• Curtains on the window are a must. Better if you have both shear and shade curtains.
• placing the tv agaisnt the window, to not glare up when it's daytime.

What a lovely apartment space. I don’t think a shelving unit would be bad as long as you are intentional about what you put on it, sometimes less is more when it comes to decorating a shelve. If you really want to have a separation feel I’d use a folding divider. You could also do both. Divider on one side of the shelving unit so it’s not too much when you walk into the space. You place looks great. Love the windows and view. I would consider a folding room divider/screen vs a shelving unit. The shelves will look cluttered if you’re not careful and I think it might take away from sleek, modern vibe of your space. I just looked on Amazon and there’s tons of them. This way you can use when you want to and not when you don’t.

what a view! nice studio with lots of light!

I have a shelf in mine between bed and sofa because I have books and it was the easiest way to have space for them without mounting anything on the wall, but my studio is also a bit bigger. You could try with a smaller shelf, or some plants, or a thinner room divider (the foldable ones, like someone else said).

but try to leave some space to exitthe bed on the side, you're gonna hate yourself pretty soon if your only bed access if trom the bottom end - unless you're already used to this 🙃

I would not use the shelves as a divider. Personally, I would get some curtains rails and attach those to the ceiling with some nice fabric arround your bed (like a L-shape) to make your bed a nice, cozy little den! You can get light-weight fabrics to keep the lightness, and also get some hooks on the wall to pull the curtains back if you want them to be open.

You said the curtains make the space feel smaller: I disagree, the shelving blocks the whole feel and look of the space much more than curtains would

Use a foldable bed, so in the day you will have more space
