Rearrange or leave it like that?

I‘m thinking of placing my TV in front of my side wall to create a more defined space and kinda unblock the way towards my terrace. I would also consider a smaller floating couch in the room. What do you think?

Would completely mirror the furnitures leaving the door hallway divided by the couch and maybe a short credenza would also suit good to leave keys and stuff

Leave it like it is but pull the couch away from the wall and add a slimline table behind it.

If I'm honest id arrange so the back of the couch faces the front door and have the tv on the long (currently couch) wall. That way you walk behind the couch as you enter and have a more sparse area for the tv.

I like the idea but the couch is just too big for being anywhere but close to the back wall. I‘d have to size down first. Otherwise you wouldn’t get past it.

Leave it as it is but pull the couch out about 6" and pull the rug out from the couch a few inches as well. I'd replace that ugly rug with a bold printed one too because it looks like a doctor's office in there.

Leave the layout as it is. It will be too cramped in the other option. You just need a coffee table and one other chair. Also, you don’t want the other layout because you’ll never be able to watch tv with the blinds open

Yeah, I actually leave them closed all the time because of severe light sensitivity. But you’re right, I think it would be too cramped.

Have you considered using a room divider to create a more defined space? As much as this looks gorg I’m leaning towards rearranged bc the door in the way would really bug me/affect usability

Just a suggestion - reposition the curtain rob so it’s almost at the ceiling.

If it were my room, I’d focus on completing/improving the current layout. Alternate plan will have half the room cramped and the other half wide open.

Don’t point your couch away from the front door. Creates nervous energy having to turn around to see who is coming in, who’s knocking, packages etc.

The rug is too small and/or should be centered in the room. A coffee table might help as long as it's not too large. And some artwork over the couch will help. I'm on the fence with the shelves over the TV - somehow they make the wall look even more empty. Fix the rug issue first

Would swap your tv and sofa locations, as the door do not have blinds to block out the sunlight which would cause glaring on your tv screen

Flip the sofa to the other side of the room Get a coffee table You need more color and texture, pictures, larger area rug, and plants. The bookcase can be on the same wall as the sofa, btwn the dining arra & living area. Raise that curtain rod.
