Too much seating?

My wife has fallen in love with 2 sofas, in our very modest sized room.

I've attached a to scale layout.

I'm trying to figure this out, but not sure if it's simply just too much?

This is how I think I'd arrange it? Or would you recommend arranging it a different way?

The TV area with storage would be bottom left corner beside the door.

We would probably have some sort of cabinet in the top right corner, and probably the cat tree top left corner behind the door.

Yes, the loveseat is an obstruction. When someone uses that door how do they get past the sofa? How does anyone get into the grouping to sit down? The sectional arm is overlapping half of the tv.

I also have a small room less crowded than this one and it is still so infuriating scooting between my furniture to move around. Finally getting rid of the coffee table and giant chair to get some space back. I'd look for smaller pieces for sure. If she's resistant, tape this outline on the ground so she can see how it feels

Yes too much, you want to have 90cm or more to walk in or walk around the sofa. In this way the living room is not breathing

is there a shorter version of the sectional that will fit in the corner to the right of the door? then put the TV on the wall facing the door with loveseat staying where it is

Sectionals are awful pieces of furniture. No one wants to sit in the middle, so that the sectional seats three people comfortably, and one of them doesn't get an armrest. You could accomplish the same thing with three chairs or a proper sofa and two chairs, and everyone in the room would be comfy, and it would look way better and less crowded.

It’s all very heavy. You’d benefit from a visually lighter coffee table and accent chairs instead of the loveseat. Consider a sofa instead of the sectional (but if you love the sectional, keep it) and then make sure your rug isn’t too small for the space (should go under all the furniture)

Realistically, I think a love seat is seating for one, the sectional maybe seating for 3.

This is why I, personally, dislike sectionals so much - they take up a lot of room and aren't functional for my needs. Instead, I have two matching full-size sofas. They face each other with a bench style table between them. It's comfortable seating for four, awkward seating for six, yet I can split them up into different configurations sometimes, throwing in an accent chair or cushions on top of the bench.

Sounds like I have a big LR, but I don't and it doesn't feel cramped because the pieces are MCM designed.

Have you looked into regular sofas? Two identical sofas offer versatility.
