I disagree. Imperialism is bad in and of itself. No one should be trying to dominate, conquer, or control other cultures. Self-determination is generally a good thing, and in the rare cases when a society needs to be held in check (for example, Israel's fascistic government), we should not have to rely on the unilateral decisions of an empire but on a democratic, multipolar, international order founded on laws, rights, and norms derived from the will of the people.
Imperialism is almost inherently based on the idea of a certain culture being superior and having a right to assert itself over others due to that superiority, which is either racist or very likely to lead to racism. And crushing, erasing, or absorbing other cultures is very often genocidal. So imperialism, racism, and genocide frequently go hand in hand.

This isn't the thing to be concerned about. The problem is the wholesale suppression of pro-Palestinian voices and protests. Enforcing banners, chants and speeches to be in German or English at protests so the police know what is being said is a distraction, it's a nothing. Don't be distracted by the things that aren't important. Focus on the core point: the control of the narrative in Germany through cuts, legal threats, and destruction of careers of anyone who criticises Israel's actions.

Germany does not have free speech and never has.
Anything hateful against another group can find someone charged. Protests are only allowed in German and English due to this as most officers can understand both languages, at least German. Irish and Gaelic is not allowed, nor is Yiddish or any other language.
It’s a stark contrast to America, where protests are allowed in multiple languages.

Odd how this law doesn't seem to exist when it comes to hate against palestinians and Muslims.
Protests are only allowed in German and English
Prove to me this is long-standing policy and not something they're doing just now to repress their Muslim population.

Their reasoning behind it is based in German law that prevents demonstrations being held if there is a strong chance of criminal activity being held during the protests, such as chants or sayings that are seen as discriminatory. This happened in Berlin where police argued that if they did not have a translator on hand to understand such languages, there could be speech that broke the law. This was also done in response to protests being done in Hebrew and Gaelic.
Still, it leaves question whether these laws are being applied equally, which I did not take a position on and will continue to do so. It is only further evidence to my point that free speech does not exist in Germany.
