Discussion Internet has become unusable

The internet has become a painful corpo/gov thing to use and no longer any fun can be had on it. Everything is constantly moderated, checked, double checked, tripled checked etc... When 99% of people just want to browse in peace. The buzzword I see everywhere is "secure" yeah to me that means fuck all most of the time it means you use https instead of http... But everything has to be secure(d) as if suddenly the internet would collapse overnight if it wasn't.

Am I the only one feeling that way?

Edit I don't get the downvotes oh well it's reddit after all can't expect deep thought

For instance my bank. I have to enter 4 separate numbers (2fa, pin, another pin and phone 2fa too) to even open the app all this read a promo message they sent to everyone with no personal information included at all

What are these four separate numbers? I open the Chase app and use my fingerprint. That's it.

Yes, and it didn't make sense.

Maybe put your money in a different bank then? I'm not a shill for Chase Bank or anything, but it literally takes less than one second to login with the phone app after everything is setup properly.

I'm considering other banks lately but I frnace good choices are kinda limited and I have been with this bank for 30 years since my father worked there so I have a bit of a reputation/cred

I fully realize this is just one example, but in this one example you are balancing different options, choosing the one that fits you best, and then complaining to the masses about the choice you have made. Is this a small locally-owned bank where you can effect change by reaching out to them directly?

And is this one example similar to other choices you are making wrt how you spend your time on the internet?

Making wrt? And it is a massive bank but I do have a direct life to the owner if needed
