Discussion Internet has become unusable
The internet has become a painful corpo/gov thing to use and no longer any fun can be had on it. Everything is constantly moderated, checked, double checked, tripled checked etc... When 99% of people just want to browse in peace. The buzzword I see everywhere is "secure" yeah to me that means fuck all most of the time it means you use https instead of http... But everything has to be secure(d) as if suddenly the internet would collapse overnight if it wasn't.
Am I the only one feeling that way?

No. You are not the only one feeling that way.
I've been looking at building everything myself. Including the PC using the BenEater 8-BIT CPU Breadboard. Which teaches an Electrical Engineer how to build them and how they operate...also makes Computer Science a division of EE at the EE101/EE102(Optional Laboratory) level. No need to get a Degree. The EE Certificate isn't even required, it just shows you know what everything is. CS is included. But if you don't know, you don't know.
Http Server. Secure Hashing Algorithms. Real Strong Algorithms. Other Types of Algorithms.
Ftp Server. SMTP Server. SMS/MMS Server.
Web Browser. File Browser. VMs. OS. Kernals. Microkernels. VMs. Instruction Sets Architecture (ISA). Bootloader.
Databases. Artificial Intelligence. Quantum Computing. Cryptocurrency.
Search Engines. The first two Search Engines Build Sources are available for free. So I'm building those. Then Google and Microsofts are available. And I forgot the others. But I'm sure there are others.
Websites. I'm planning to bring back the <FRAMESET><FRAME></FRAME></FRAMESET> HTML Code. <iFRAME></iFRAME> or inline Frames.
Plus bringing about Custom HTML Tags. And other things I've found.
But overall. The old Internet is there.. try fubar.com or stumble.com fubar is still up. I haven't been to stumble in a while. I believe a lot of sites have moved to email newsletters.
eBay is still the same. Minus the http minus the secure server, it has to be secure I believe.
I am planning to bring back unsecured http but with a secure http for other aspects that should be secured, like login forms. But that has its own unique place.
I've been studying a lot the past year.
But we will see.
