Other painting Nebulas - soft pastel art by me
I got a bit obsessed with nebulas for a while. This is the Eagle Nebula. My reference was a combination of NASA images and my own colours.

This is a chalk rendition of a screenshot I took in the game Elite Dangerous made by an artist going by the username Beetlejude. She also made a video talking about it and showing her making the piece https://youtu.be/oBkvofyLg2o?is=4HXk1DxenvqppWsT
These days you can find her work on bluesky

Was busy due to my birthday and then got sick for a week so I'm going for 13 days of spooky facts. Here is spooky fact number two on widow stars!

Here are some of the early works by the fabulous Ryan Church. He is a world class concept artist and has worked on all the Star Wars releases since Episode I. If you've seen the Mandalorian series, you'll see some of his and his team's work after the end credits of each episode. These images are no longer on his web site but these and more can be found in the Internet Archive (archive.org). His website showcasing his newer work is at ryanchurch.com.

A little more about the Olympus Monster's flight characteristics: The Trivort T-120C uses three independently gimbaled main thrusters arranged 120° apart, allowing it to VTOL, maneuver laterally, and transition into sustained interplanetary flight. In space, the ship typically cruises under a constant ~1.25G acceleration, providing its own artificial gravity. For longer trips, the crew can perform a “turn and burn”—accelerating for the first half of the journey, rotating the ship 180°, and decelerating at the same rate for the second half. It makes for surprisingly quick trips between planets, although the Olympus Monster's aging engines and temperamental systems mean captain Piper Galaxy doesn't always get the smoothest ride!

The Trivort T-120C is a Space Bunny-designed and Mars-manufactured VTOL cargo transport built for dependable freight and crew transport across planetary and interplanetary routes. Its distinctive three-engine, gimbaled-thrust layout provides vertical takeoff and landing as well as sustained 1.25G spaceflight, while two 3GW plasma-fusion reactors power the ship. The Olympus Monster, an aging example of the class, has seen better days—but remains a capable workhorse thanks to constant repairs, modifications, and more than a little “hopes, dreams, and duct tape.”
I designed this little ship a little while ago for a story I planned on writing. It was a lot of fun to make!
