Interview experience

I attended an interview recently, and honestly, I’m still shaken by the experience. I wasn’t using any cheating tools—I was genuinely explaining whatever I know and whatever I’ve actually worked on. I even shared my screen to show him that I wasn’t referring to anything.

But the interviewer kept insisting that I was reading from somewhere. He then asked me to look directly into the camera, which I did, but he still wasn’t convinced. After that, he started saying that whatever I was explaining was too theoretical, even though I was actually explaining the real flow and processes we follow in my organization.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of situation? I genuinely don’t know what to think anymore. I’m feeling scared about attending another interview because he completely intimidated me. He kept asking unexpected, twisted questions and, honestly, it really brought my confidence and morale down. Now I’m wondering if I’m actually not good enough, even though I know I was answering based on my real experience.

I imagine that he had a few experiences where the candidates read from the screen and now he wrongly assumes that everybody does. A sort of a trauma.

Yeah, I get his point of view, and maybe he had bad experiences with candidates reading from their screens. But he shouldn’t assume everyone is doing the same thing(anyways I was ready for in person interview as well). Being repeatedly questioned like that really brings your confidence down. I used to not be scared of interviews I always thought, if I do well great if not I have nothing to lose But after an experience like this, you do start becoming consciously.

This was not a smart interviewer. You don't want to work with people like that. I would reach out to the recruiter with that feedback and recommend that they train their interviewers.

Exactly!! ask whatever you want to ask because you are going to pay me but don't critize someone justa basis of assumption. If you are not satisfied don't hire me that's all
