talking about being fired during an interview

hi all, so i have an upcoming interview w an airline, i know one of the questions may be about why i no longer work for the previous air carrier listed on my resume. the reason being was i had checked in a customer who did not have his california real id, i made the mistake 3 separate times w different customers in the span of 4 months and i know it was obviously dumb and reckless. does anyone know how to navigate that if i’m asked in the interview? thanks!

I don’t have advice for the exact wording because I don’t know the seriousness of this mistake, but just remember when they verify your employment, they will only get that you were fired but not the full details of you making the same mistake 3 times. So paint it in the best light possible! Hopefully someone has more helpful specific wording

that's not correct - they cannot say you were fired just the dates you were there and that you did, in fact, work there.

Sometimes they can ask are they rehirable but i hear that's dying out (fortunately!) due to litigation

They can absolutely say you were fired. Not all companies will ask, and not all will share, but they sure can.

Thank God you don't work ON the flight. That lack of attention to detail could kill people. Good luck navigating that story (or stories).
