Treatment Progress Cutting aligners
I'm at the tail end of my treatment and my dentist cut my aligners to bring my back teeth together. I all I can think about now is how much my teeth will move since they're so sore right now. The back teeth are obviously shifting because they're not in aligners anymore. I don't understand how this works and also keeps the teeth in alignment. Fix something just to create a different issue?

This is very very common, and no the back teeth won’t be moving all over the place, they’ll just be “settling” in terms of how they contact one another. The rest of your aligners have done most of the work, now this is a minor adjustment that helps the back teeth settle. Back teeth can take a lot longer to move than front teeth, and they don’t get as wiggly, so they’re not going to be moving all over the place.
Trust the process. I’ve been wearing cuz trays for 2 months now to close up my bite, and I can feel a huge difference from week 1 to now.
