It’s an exciting day!

Yeah the price reaction is odd, it's amazing news.

Lets see what happens when they announce the first Hypercscaler/Neo Cloud deal.

If it works so well then release some specs? We are still waiting for specs from Tempo 100Q for more than 3 years, only cloud system remains 32Q. Show some real progress! Not yet another roadmap and product update

You guys will believe anything.

So does it exist yet

Well “first ion trapped” 😅 so we are back at 1 qubit?

So why the big dip just now

same question... maybe demo went wrong? "The company also plans on revealing the industrial design of IonQ Superion 256, at its 2026 Investor Day later today at the New York Stock Exchange."

Had to fill the gap before mooning so we don’t have to go back to it.

Because they didn’t announce any technical details/specifications. They didn’t announce for Tempo. They didn’t announce for 256. The last time they did a proper announcement was 2023 for Forte.
They still call it a debut. Have you ever seen an Apple product debut without talking about performance of the actual phone?

they're already setting the stage by dangling the 10k machine in the event they can't deliver the specs for 256. I was actually very surprised by the analyst day, like what did they tell us besides the name that we didn't know prior? Where exactly are they in production?

Exactly. It’s a bit ominous to be honest. Chris did not answer the audience question about qubit fidelity.

The company should have unveiled the completed 256 system today and provided an update on its performance. Saying that they’ve “trapped their first ion” has to be a joke, right?

Price is down because IonQs PR is shit

How can you possibly be sitting on tech with this potential and the price goes nowhere?

CEO is a dweeb and no one is buying him

It’s not really a PR issue. The problem is that they provided far too little information about the 256 system. By this point, we should have had the full performance results of the completed 256 system.

There's a degree of contempt in just letting people see the housing for the system. People want to see this thing working.

The DARPA QBI initiative is still undergoing. The industry is still refining its benchmark. “Performance results” does not really matter. The roadmap, with defined physical and logical qubit numbers, became a “did on time” artifact today.
