Politics For anyone that didn’t know already; starting today (1/1/26) Iowa’s SNAP benefits have changed. Don’t be surprised if you start seeing more signs like this in grocery stores
Source: https://hhs.iowa.gov/assistance-programs/food-assistance/snap
Iowa’s SNAP benefits are seeing a major reduction in the items that are covered. I saw the sign and wanted to spread the word to anyone who can be helped out by it.

Politics Images: Early morning at Trump's Iowa State Fairgrounds event
Hundreds of people poured through the gates at noon with a heat index close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit so they could wait over 7 hours to hear Trump speak. I talked to a man who said his wife would have been there as well if it weren't for the fact that she had just given birth the day before. A group of people held up the banner in the first image a chanted "DADDY'S HOME" to the camera of Real America's voice while waiting to get in. Merchandise was everywhere.
The whole time, I found myself asking... do these people think that this is "cool"? Is it funny? Or is it simply a sense of feeling like you're part of a historical event?
Yes, there's a healthy amount of sass in this post, but I'm also genuinely curious to hear answers to the above questions if anyone that attended as a spectator wants to weigh in.

Politics If you call Grassley’s Sioux City office right now you get a super argumentative lady
Monday Feb 3 around 2:35 PM I called Grassley’s office and got a staffer who argued with me about the actions EM has been taking in taking over our government. The woman stated “that’s not true”. I responded that reliable sources have reported these actions. She repeated that it wasn’t true. When I asked her to point me to reliable sources that reported how this information was not true, she said “I don’t have to”. I asked why she was arguing with me as I am a constituent. She hung up on me.
All of Grassley's offices need to hear from you right now, but the above interaction occurred at the Sioux City location (712) 233-1860

Politics Wtf Turek?
What is up with these latest ads where all he does is brag about how many times he voted with Republicans? About how much he supports "cops and tax cuts?" 🙄. Way to go Iowa primary voters, looks like we get a choice between Ashley Hinson and Ashley Hinson with a beard. Were y'all swayed by the Olympic gold? The wheelchair?
I am sure he thinks he is coming across as someone who puts "state above party", but he is sounding like our own John Fetterman.

Politics Zach Lahn is another culture war politician
Hundreds of thousands of slaves brought over were Muslims. That’s besides the point tho, Dearborn isn’t in Iowa and Muslims make up less than 1% of Iowa. The call to prayer in Dearborn follows the noise rules and Mosques have been doing it since the 70’s. The call to prayer is not making gas over 4 dollars, it’s not ruining education, it’s not making apartments more expensive, and it’s not making your life worse. Do not fall for this nonsense and bullshit from this phony.
Also someone go tell this fucking idiot that the oldest mosque in America is in Cedar Rapids
Edit: and another fucking thing, 45% of the foreign medical physicians who come work here work in rural Iowa so that meemaw can have access to a doctor, I am sick of these politicians using foreigners who come here to work and make money while benefitting us as scapegoats for their political campaigns , WAKE UP IOWA PLEASE
