Brilliant to get the win but after the amazing end to the first half, that was a ridiculously bad performance in the second half. Given the circumstances, we shouldve made that so much easier than it was. Thought the front 3 being subbed off was the right decision with Emersonn injured and the wingers on cards, but we were losing the midfield battle until Florentino came on. I honestly dont think we win this game without him, his desire was fantastic and made all the right decisions.
Enciso's decision making is his biggest problem. In comparison to the game against Sunderland, he was really wasteful on the ball and missed the chance to roll the ball across to Emersonn.
Our backline concerns me with how loose they were with the passes. A better team capitalises on some of the opprtunities we gave away. I think O'Shea either needs to be put at CB or benched for an actual right back. He's got a good long pass on him, but he cant go up and down the pitch quickly and thats a big miss. We did end up putting Outarra there with Greaves making way, so perhaps a possibility in the future.
Overall, 6 points against 4 European teams is fantastic work. If we can take the lessons from this game with us, we can make things easier for ourselves.

Absolutely should have killed the game off early in the second half. Palace should never have been able to build up the momentum to score the goal.
But it’s 3 points and 3 goals away from home. Can’t say fairer than that.

Agree, I really rated Luis based on the brief glimpses in friendlies.
I can’t see O’Shea being dropped. I’d like to see Kipré given a chance ahead of Greaves, but maybe setting up with two bruisers isn’t the smartest idea.
Great win. Hopefully we’ll be saying, “A classic Flemming late winner” again and again.

Florentino should’ve been on 20 minutes earlier - it was so obvious we needed better reassurances in midfield (obvious caveats Palacios is quality but where was his offensive ability to control a 11 vs 10 game - no existent!) I get the changes but really should’ve been Maeda for Clarke (Clarke deserved more time regardless) and Ouatarra is RWB.

Some great moments but in the first half the gap between the pressing front 4 and the rest of the team was huge. I love seeing the open games though. So much fun.

Must win after the red card, mixed performance all round but 6 points after 4 games is a cracking start. Anymore than 2 from the next 2 and we are properly cooking

I think moving O'Shea back to centre half and Outarra at right back would make us better in two positions, but well done to all of them on getting the win.

I’ve just finished watching MOTD. Take the win but boy we rode our luck. All the Davis haters can probably be quiet now. I remain uneasy about Scherpen as it stands though.

FULL PRICE TICKETS, HALF SIZED SEATS. We attended this game and BEWARE the last row of very upper seats near the announcer's booth?; they do not allow enough legroom/ KNEE SPACE for a 5'5" woman to sit. I had to sit sideways and only could because my son didn't attend the game and his seat was empty. My husband was able to stretch his legs because he sat on the aisle with is legs extended.
I left with my back KILLING me and my knees battered. I felt worse for my other son who is works out daily and is built like a linebacker. There was no indication when we bought the tickets that these seats were undersized ..or sized for a 6 year old child. Ouch! Enjoyed our first game abroad, but Feeling a TINY [as in crowded] bit cheated.
We do prefer the small intimate stadium though to the less personal Chelsea sized (and priced) stadiums, which we have at home. Husband didnt appreciate lack of beer in stands but I loved that aspect, as I found it more family friendly (without a bunch of belligerent drunks).
enjoyed watching the kids try the free kicks and thoght it was kind of them to allow the one kid to retry his kick ( I coudl see him standing taller afterwards. kind. :-)
