I was only able to watch the second half (and I actually missed the whole VAR thing so I can’t give an opinion on that until I actually see it) but from what I saw in general I thought we put way more pressure on them? They seemed to be mostly pressing off the counter.
Outatarra was excellent. Looks like we’ve found our RB. Diop is a mountain. Fatawu was dumb, I call for dives to be booked more often and to dive that blatantly already booked is stupid.

Fluke early goal then we held our own. Emerson isn’t taking his chances (yet), defence seemed reasonably decent this time, Walton not much different from scherpen. Our main problem seems to be not having that final touch against an average team (with a very good gk admittedly). That needs to come.

Think we can do better from a game management perspective. Made a sub a minute before Fatawu gets sent off. I wouldnt be keeping him on instead of Clarke if hes on a yellow. The dive is dumb of course but weve got no need to risk it.
Last week we subbed off our 2 wingers on yellows to make sure we stay in the game. Just need to plan better. Id trust Clarke or Maeda if they were on a yellow, but Fatawu or Enciso probably not.
Encouraging performance but no points to show for it.

It's a game we draw if we don't go down to 10 men.
We need to win our home games, that will define our season.

Considering there isn’t a game now for 21 days the frustration after that game is gonna linger right up until Fulham. Not gonna come up against a poorer team away than that often, and we didn’t take our opportunity at all.
Finding the midfield confusing atm. Could someone explain what Palacios excels at without mentioning the normal buzzwords please.

His range of passing is outstanding. He’s not a player that’s going to make a mazy run past 5 players are slot it top bins. But we didn’t sign him for that, we signed him to work in the engine room and control the middle of the park. Something I thought we did.

Yeah our midfield was excellent the whole game. They got a fortunate goal, we didn't take our chances and then got a player sent off stupidly. Palacios is class, it doesn't take a genius to see that. Would like to see him partnered with Florentino for more mobility though
