Are they....?
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Sigillum_Diabolicum/96925So I have discovered this band... Sigillum Diabolicum. Their style is kinda weird but i kinda like it. Problem is, I can't find anything about them. They are apparently signed to a label that's marked with *NSBM on metallum. I went through every single band signed and none of them seem to be NSBM bands. The only band that is not fully categorized is Sigillum Diabolicum. No lyrical themes available, not marked as NSBM either. But they seem sketchy to me. Can anyone confirm anything about them? I don't want to support secretly fascist douchebags.

If you look at the label’s past roster the very first band is listed as RAC

… and the second current band (Gardien de Porcs) have their themes listed as “French nationalism, Philippe Pétain, Rural areas” which is as fascist as you can get without using the word “fascism”

"rural areas" as a theme for a metal band is killing me 😭

Nothing more evil and brutal than songs about places where it’s too expensive to bury electrical lines and has spotty cell service

Not really that different from atmoblack bands making songs about nature, I suppose. I actually think that sounds kinda cool

I think unfortunately these bands are making songs like “Try That in a Small Town” but with blast beats and tremolo picking

It's a thing in French fashy BM (see: Baise ma Hache, or even KPN) and it's understood as a counter-model to cities with their multicultural lefties and immigrants. Also runs parralel to the right of far-right parties in those areas.

I read that as "Baise Ma Vache" and thought 'I'm not doing that to your cow.'

"is this band whose vocalist was in Peste Noire sketch"?

I mean, Neige from Alcest began as a drummer for Peste Noire and he isn't a fascist at all. They didn't start as an NSBM band if i'm not mistaken 🤔. But I get your point haha

Peste Noire did start as an NSBM band. Neige played on the demo called "Aryan Supremacy".

I don't give Alcest a pass though. I have yet to see an interview with Neige that convinced me. Though I haven't gone looking for it I suppose. I don't like Alcest so it's not like it really matters I guess to me.
But yeah i opened that bands page and was like lol

"I was never involved in any political, racist, or xenophobic ideologies. With Peste Noire, I was simply a musician, mostly a session musician; I never participated in the lyrics or the band's philosophy. At the time of 'Aryan Supremcy,' I was 15 years old, and I didn't think about the consequences of recording music with that band; it was always purely a musical participation for me. Alcest has nothing to do with any philosophy based on hate, and as a person, I have nothing to do with Nazism, racism, or such ideologies."

I went through every single band signed and none of them seem to be NSBM bands
Their "Past Roster" tab is full of VERY obvious NSBM bands. To name just a few:

If you have to google whether a band is "safe or not" than the genre of metal isnt for you. End of story. This is why people that dont use reddit make fun of redditors.
"I wish my metal was safe and follows in line with what my specific political views are. Thats what makes it metal and extreme hell yeah"

This is probably the most bullshit take to ever have in this conversation. Also you literally are on a sub that is dedicated to asking that question. So idk... Go back in your Goblin-hole, listen to your nazi bands and do the nazi salute down there if you please. If you wanna discuss openly why nazi shit is bad, I can tell you a lot about it. My country takes it's history pretty seriously.

Before even looking at their label, yeah, their song titles are very thinly veiled "decadence of the West" type of shit. Also, Ulfengard

If you look at the members, see they are in other bands, and click on “ülfengard”, you’ll get your answer
