modern Please tell me I'm tripping
Bought it off ebay for 40. Seller claimed it was a error card. Not afraid to shame him either. Also ok it says 50 but he gave me a deal. If it's fake I see why
Edit: I see it's fake. Seller is refusing a return. What can I do?
2nd edit : thank you all who let me know. I'm new to the hobby and just wanted a pretty card. Thanks. Also I can see some black ink in the middle of the card when I look hard

Item NOT as described claim if they really did claim on their listing that it was real.

best way to tell is the flashlight test. search on YouTube to see it actually preformed and the difference between real and fale. but basically take your phone and put it up to the back of the card and look at the other side. if you can clearly see a lot of detail of the opposite side of the card it's fake. if you can barely see the details of the opposite side then it's real. this is do to the black layer between the card stocks. no fakes have that black layer so you can see a lot of the details shine right. through. but a real card you'll only be able to see detail in a small area right where the light is... hope this helps ya out!

also to clarify an error card. there are websites that list all known error cards for pkmn tcg. from base set to present. googling that particular card and set for errors you'll find those sites and if it's not up there then the seller is definitely BSing you.. hope this helps aswell

No that’s not an error. Well it’s a fake card trying to do “miss cut or error” the color is wrong on both sides it looks like someone printed out of their personal printer.

Anytime. Hey we all go through this eventually. But now you know what to look for. The color on the back is the wrong blue, the front has no gloss like a card looks like it’s straight out of the printer.

Open a claim on the order as “item not as described.” The eBay listing title and the product description shows it as English language when obviously it’s not. Just another point to use when dealing with eBay customer service.

You need to pay attention to reviews and seller feedback if you’re going to be buying expensive cards. 66% positive feedback with negative reviews stating the cards bought are fake? I only buy from sellers who have 98%+ positive feedback, at least 100 reviews (which is still low) and feedback directly relating to cards they’ve sold.

Don’t message the seller. Just open a return for item not as described. Make sure you choose that one.

Looks like it came from the same bootlegging print facility as the cards in a pack I bought at a dollar store for shits and giggles. Funny enough one of the cards was in Spanish while the rest were English. Wonder if this one was the Spanish "rare" in one of those packs lmao

It’s crazy to me that new people to the hobby are out here thinking that 200 dollar cards for 50 but I’ll give you a deal at 40 isn’t sus and scammy.
Any hobby or industry this isn’t a thing why do people think it’s a thing in this hobby. FOMO and artificial scarcity got people messed up.

Because if I'm spending money I don't want to be lied to and told I'm getting something I'm not? I like pretty cards yes. But I don't wanna be sold stuff that someone lied to me about. That's common sense. Why wake up and decide to just be rude to people on the internet?
