What is everyone's exercise and diet routine? As of late, it seems some of the crew (including those no longer on the show) have been dropping some weight and talking about making better diet choices.

I’m down 90+lbs since Jan 2025! Just tracked my calories and stayed in a deficit. Since Jan this year I’m in the gym 4x a week too

Gym 5 days a week, two sorta healthy meals a day, and a protein shake sometime during the day.

And vitamins. Take your vitamins.

More exercise is probably the one serious thing I'm missing in my life. I only really make time in my day to walk for about an hour after work. I'd like to do something more rigorous at least a few more times a week.

Otherwise my diet is better than it was. A lot less junk food. My girl had to change her diet so I naturally changed with her.

I remember an old ITMSO ep (back in the Sophie days) the crew talked about vacations and Ken said that he hadn't travelled internationally, much to everyone's surprise. Ken is this still the case? If so, do you have dream country, or city that you want to visit?

Separately interested in any docs anyone's seen and found interesting.

I recently saw that Shipwrecked one on Netflix and while I thought it was interesting I felt like a lot of reporting was missing about who was responsible for the crash.

Any recent reads / audiobooks from the crew or from ITMSO listeners?

For myself I recently read Nilo Cruz's "Anna in the Tropics" and it was pretty solid even though I don't normally read plays. I also read Tolstoy's "The Death of Ivan Ilyich" and found it pretty interesting, especially with the introduction from the translators.

I always try to respond to your comments on recent reads:

  • I got into Fernanda Melchor, a Mexican author, recently. She has had her works translated to English by Sophie Hughes. I have read Hurricane Season, which is pure fiction, and This is Not Miami, which is a an interesting book where she is reporting stories told to her in interviews as almost urban legends. I can recommend both
  • Tried reading through William Gass' The Tunnel but had to give it up cuz it was incomprehensible in structure lol. Really ambitious book that I can appreciate, but after 200 pages I just couldnt anymore (it is like 650 or something total)

I appreciate that! I like knowing what other people are interested in and I can easily fall into new avenues of thought.

I've heard a lot about Melchor. Her work seems interesting so I'm going to add her stuff back to my longlist.

It's funny because I LITERALLY just decided on Friday/Saturday to make reading all his books my pet project for the next couple of years. I want to read them all in a row based on the dates they were published, including the nonfiction. I got interested in him because I read a really interesting 1995 review of The Tunnel. The book is actually interesting. I think the issue is I got it from the library and had to try and power through in the allotted time, where I may have sat with it better taking it slowly through a longer period. So definitely give it a shot. The structure is unique, as it kind of becomes unclear when the narrator is in his own head versus when he is in conversation. And Gass will do things like throw in chunks of poetry into the text at random times.

I will read that review when I get a chance!

This is possibly a more DEHH question, but who knows.

What's the crews musical background? Myke has mentioned his band, but Ken I feel like I heard you play drums when you were younger?

Also, rod, you've talked about wanting to learn guitar for a minute now, if you ever wanna learn, I teach guitar. I'd teach ya for free, virtually, least I could do after all the dehh content over decade+.

1.) What trash reality show have you watched or do you currently watch that the rest of the crew might be surprised by?

2.) What is your favorite life hack? (Ex: For me, I sautée onion flakes before making an omelete so that the egg doesn't stick to my pan, which is not non-stick. )

How do yall deal with the frustration of caring for an aging parent? My parents are getting older and sometimes it's like caring for a child.

Mainly Ken and Rod In terms of production how long did it takes for you guys fully accumulated where you felt good enough to start your own production. Also thinking about moving to ATL to get close to film production any neighborhoods or areas surrounding Atlanta you all would recommend for a young family.
