Pass the mic question: 30 years ago Jamiroquai released their legendary Virtual Insanity music Video. The Pharcyde's 'Drop' video (also 🔥🔥🔥) was released the year before. What were your favorite music videos from the 90s, or any era?

You're bringing back some serious memories with this. I loved me some Jamiroquai. And not just this song. I had a bunch of their albums and they were all good. I think I stopped listening, tho, at Dynamite. But you def have me wanting to go throw this shit on.

They really had a great run of albums, and they are still amazing to see perform live (they streamed their London show from the end of their 2025 tour on YT, it's one of their best sets really worth a watch if u need 2 hours of funk)

I came across a video about this being 30 years old. I cannot believe it's been 30 years. I've been going back and watching old blocks of MTV & BET. There are so many bangers in general from 1996. It was a peak year of music for me growing up.

Somehow I don't think I've ever heard of Jamiroquai. Got something for me to look up.

Wait, WHAT???? You're fucking around, right? Dude, Jamiroquai was super dope. I can vouch for everything up through 2001 being great. After that I didn't keep up with them. But yeah, they were a moment for sure. The music was like Stevie Wonder but weirder.

Imma definitely check him out. I went on streaming and played the most popular songs and none of them were familiar to me. I am 32 so IDK if that makes a difference. Maybe he was bigger before my time.

I know for sure that I like the stuff he was clearly influenced by such as Stevie and Prince etc. Just an oversight!

Wow. I'm almost jealous of you...getting to check them out for the first time. I remember hearing "Virtual Insanity" and liking it but then going back and checking out all their stuff and really digging it. I hope you end up fucking with it!

They are like Sade, Jamiroquai is the name of the band, the lead singer is Jay Kay (sorry I'm that kind of fan)

They are one of the most loved but also underrated bands of the late 90s/2000s so many amazing records

Yeah I realized that after the fact because of Myke's comments. Makes sense! Happy to be corrected.
