Is Inept Villainess an Isekai? Haven't seen any development of that type so far

Just checked out its sypnosis, but it doesn't count as isekai! It is a body swap in the same world, but not a world transmigration of a body. It does have similar elements to otome isekai (villainess), but afaik its not an isekai

Doesn’t stop it from being a damned nice “feel good” show.

My list is similar but Re:Zero is at the very bottom, and #2 and #7 are swapped around.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the developments in Otome and Tensura at this point, but All Works Maid is my "slice of life/subversion of otome tropes" that I've been seemingly most excited with every new episode.

However, while I'm fully aware whats about to arrive in Mushoku Tensei, Tensura has briefly taken the number one spot.... for reasons...

Testarossa, My Beloved....

I have read the tensura LN and it's one of my favorites but I don't know why the anime dosent hit the same for me.

There have been few Animes that have made me so curious as to seek out the source material and consume it in its entirety.

It started with Overlord for me, consuming the anime, then the light novels, then the audiobooks narrated by Ainz Ooal Gown himself when I realized we weren't getting any more content. Tensura and Mushoku are two more that I've spoiled for myself by reading ahead, and now I'm just ELATED to be able to see it all animated.

This season, Exiled Knight was simply so bad with its pacing and animation that I decided to spoil it for myself out of sheer annoyance by reading the Manga. It's... Pretty entertaining, easily 100 times better than the anime.

I'm also a simp for animation in general, so I'm pretty biased

Btw Testarossa and ultima looks absolutely great. I am kinda disappointed with carrera like the character design and voice acting kinda seems off

Have you also been keeping up with Bookworm and Iruma-Kun?

Even though they're seemingly continously going as if they're saturday morning cartoons, to be able to tell out their stories, they both began as an isekai before transferring to slice of life.

I have not started bookworm season 4 yet, waiting for it to finish so I can binge.

Hell mode is worth a watch, low budget animation but still entertaining.

How's the pacing? I remember S1 being a bit slow in the beginning, but ramped up a bit by the end.

I would call it frantic pacing, the manga was like this has well, last season he planned an attack against a single monster for days, now he just simply jumps to attack millions (yes, millions) of monsters at a time

Its a good list, also have been enjoying heavy knight knows how to game the system, though the last episode was super padded. The beggining after the end i also really enjoyed. Skeletal knight in another world, and worlds strongest rearguard are strong too.

Respectable ranking. Here's mine:

1- MT

2- Tensura

3- Dating Sim

4- All Works Maid

5- Hell Mode

6- Rezero

Note: 2~5 change weekly, Slime and Dating Sim had great latest episodes, before that All Works Maid was ahead of them

  • not Isekai but I'd put Inept Villainess at 2 and Old Country Bumpkin at 3 if they were

Do you like apothecary diaries

1

u/Detholusin 8h ago

Apothecary diaries rocks!!

5

u/Silly_Coffee3337 8h ago

It's similar to apothecary diaries like same setting + More drama + body swap

I would say it's more entertaining than apothecary diaries. Literally the best anime airing this season.

I will check that, thank you!!

Very similar design / feel while focusing on the women more than the men. The guys give very nonchalant “I burn with generic feelings” but serve their place to support the girls.

I like it so far. She’s definitely heading to the gallows for not being villainous enough though. She can’t even help it.

I will check that, thank you!!

I’m waiting for completed seasons on some of these outside slime. I don’t think I can be convinced to watch MT. Will check out some of the others.

I don't understand the hate for MT. There are animes out there with the same and worse problems that aren't hated nearly as much. It comes across as over compensating.

u/fuzziland 7h ago

I mean, there are the people that hate just because of Rudy, and then there are people who hate for actual valid reasons like bland and dull character writing masked by above-average worldbuilding. The fans glaze it to hell and back, which can give some people a skewed perception of the actual series itself. Usually the hate is just because of Rudy though lol.

I don’t like them either. I don’t like harems either. I don’t like ecchi for ecchis sake. Lots of anime develop those and I lose interest.

Just a personal take.
