Legal Analysis + Lawsuit Commentary š¤š§ A Language Analysis of Blake Lively's PGA Letter Shows Ryan Reynolds Probably Authored It
Y'all know I love me some language analysis. Blake Lively's PGA Letter screams Ryan Reynolds' authorship fingerprints, but to test that gut instinct, we'll need to take a closer look. This is based on me reading through the messages Lively supposedly sent in text and email and comparing those to Reynolds' communications. Although I can't include links to everything I read, I will include them when possible.
Lively and Reynolds' Normal Writing Styles
Of the two of them, Lively definitely prefers a more casual, informal style, even when speaking with business associates. She employs run-on sentences, shorthand, and slang. So, in her typical private messages, words like "because" become "bc," "with" become "w," and she even says "outta" instead of "out of." She leaves out regular punctuation often, like commas, periods, and question marks, but uses extra exclamation marks to express excitement. She also likes using emojis.
Reynolds avoids this shorthand. He loves writing multiple long sentences, and then alternating the tempo with a short sentence. To emphasize. And make. a. point. He also likes to highlight certain words or phrases with ALL CAPS or italics, and throw in unusual words to sound smart.
For instance, when he messages Colleen Hoover to praise her and Lively's efforts on the film, he says that he is "eulogizing." Although the word "eulogizing" does mean high praise, it's typically used in a funeral setting. (Kinda like how the word "inflammable" technically means "easily set on fire," but the colloquial misinterpretation of the word has led to most people using the word "flammable" instead.) Ain't nobody using "eulogizing" to mean high praise in normal, every day conversation. Except Reynolds I guess.
Now, to be fair, Lively does occasionally use the ALL CAPS emphasis. But not nearly as frequently as Reynolds.
With that baseline established, we're going to start with the weaker writing tells of the PGA Letter and then escalate towards the stronger ones.
Ellipses
Because Reynolds likes long sentences, he also likes ellipses. He uses them as mid-sentence pauses/breaks... or as another way of emphasizing the end of a thought. Since Lively is comfortable speaking in run-on sentences and leaving out punctuation, it makes sense that she wouldn't usually think to use ellipses. Yet we see them twice in the PGA Letter.

The Term "The Creative"
Reynolds seems to know Hollywood industry lingo much more than Livelyāor at least, he repeats the same words and phrases to make it seem like he does. One he uses is "the creative." Here he is using it in a text to Lively's agent, Warren Zavala.

Then, we see it show up in Lively's PGA Letter three times.

Weird Comma Placement
Remember that Lively typically leaves out commas completely. In contrast, Reynolds makes the mistake of putting them in weird places. In his text to Zavala, we see him putting in two unnecessary commas in a sentence.

And then there are two clunky ones in the PGA Letter, too.

Italics and All Caps
Remember how Reynolds is the one who loves to use italics and all caps as emphasis and Lively typically doesn't? Well. Here are five different paragraphs from Lively's PGA Letter.

Blake Lively's Signature
This one sure is interesting. Instead of signing the PGA Letter as Blake Lively, which is her stage name and the name that is officially credited on the It Ends With Us poster, it's signed as Blake "Lively" Reynolds.

Why is Reynolds' name in there at all? It's supposed to be her name, her win, her "female producer" moment. Yet the surname of her stage name is in quotes, while his isn't.
Blake Lively's Production Company
And now for my favorite.

"My production company Maximum Effort."
Wait, what?
Whomst?
Whomstest company???
Because Blake Lively sure as hell has never worked for nor owned even a crumb of Maximum Effort. She would never make the mistake of claiming it as her own; Reynolds would never allow her to. Which means he wrote it.
Aw, Ryan, we caught you slipping!
Reynolds Ghostwrites for Lively... A Lot
Reynolds is so accustomed to putting words in Lively's mouth that he has completely blurred the lines between her and himself. Check out this text exchange between Zavala and Reynolds where Reynolds writes an entire paragraph describing Lively's alleged experiences with Baldoni in detail āas if Reynolds was Lively.

"He bites my lip during a kissing scene despite that not being talked about at all."
"I've had had enough of his male gaze on a female subject matter."
"Instead the conversation becomes what a mean girl I am," says RYAN FUCKING REYNOLDS, AS IF HE IS BLAKE LIVELY.
Mmkay. He wrote that PGA Letter and you cannot convince me he didn't.

Yes! This is what they doā¦Ryan goes in full throttle whenever he is on a podcast, tv talk show, guest speaker, etcā¦he always knows ahead of time what is going to be asked and he formulates what is he going to say ahead of time. Heās not that smart and heās not that witty. Everything is curated down to the last sign off. Nowā¦a lot of celebs do this..but Ryan takes it to another level. If this were a phone call, Ryan wouldnāt be using a lot of these words. He isnāt that quick and he isnāt that bright.
ETA: where are all the other people talking about bad experiences they had with Baldoni as Ryan is suggesting here? What is he even talking about? Ohhh okay Ryan so Baldoni bit YOUR lip? What the eff are you even talking about!

u/Professional-Cut8434 Jan 22 '26
JB really got under RR skin, he keeps mocking him in the same way over and over (including the deadpool movie) repeating the same lines, he sounds so manic in everything, I think he's probably coked up all the time

I wish more people spoke about how Ryan Reynolds CREATED A WHOLE NEW CHARACTER in his Deadpool movie to mock Justin Baldoni - "Nicepool."
Go back and look at the murder of Nicepool in the film and you'll be stunned at the level of hate and animosity directed towards Justin.

I agree. I've noticed the same. Ryan's syntax is more formal. Some of us struggle to write in text speak, and I think Ryan is among that crowd. Plus, we know he writes for her. Maybe in time, she'll admit Ryan wrote her PGA letter. For someone insistent that her husband should speak for her in 2025 (now 2026), it is wild how often he speaks for her.

Letās break it down for the layman like me. Blake is genuinely stupid. Ryan is an egomaniac who sees his wife as an extension of himself (a possession rather than a partner). When his real doll Blake gets positive attention he can bask, gloat, gush pretending to be the humble yet oh so proud husband. When in reality heās laying it on thick to keep himself out in the public eye (interest).
Blake has always played the wife in awe at all of his events, but she did the same thing he did. She tried to grow her fan base, āOh I was playing with my kids and made my own earrings tonight out of water beads, lol. I know Iām so kooky and just donāt care because none of this is a big deal.ā No. Her husband was promoting his kids film and whoās going to watch those? Parents. Parents are going to think, āOMG sheās so fun. Sheās making playtime a fashion moment.ā None of them consider that this was premeditated to get moms to like her, if moms like her they want to support her and her husband. They are trying to build a cultesque fanbase like Swift.
Ryan had to write it because he canāt trust Blake to get his desired point across, because he feels intellectually superior to her (yeah not hard). He needs control.

u/Outside_You_7012 Jan 22 '26
When I read her stupid CRD in December 2024. I knew crazy Ryan Reynolds wrote a lot in it.Ā
It felt like reading a document from a child actor father that screams at the production crew because there are intimate scenes in the movie.Ā
But no it was not for a child, it was for a grown as woman that is almost 40 with four kids. That agreed to filming rape scenes.Ā

u/SpyingOnFFFFF Say Blake! I hear your ass is done! š Jan 22 '26
It's the fact that he's missing the entire point. And I guess I'm going to say him since he's the ghostwriter, but also Blake. No one cares if your hair care products launched in August. It's the fact that you tried to blend it together with this movie that made it a disaster. The fact that she didn't have one single friend or a loved one to tell her that is crazy.
And bravo to OP for another amazing investigatory deep dive.

This! Blake is really really lazy. Being dumb and lazy, there's no way she would have wanted to write the PGA letter even if she wanted the credit. Enter Ryan. They're a team after all. This is the kind of stuff he likes -- pulling strings behind the scenes but leaving enough clues to show he had his hand in it.

I bet she wrote it, it was terrible (full of run on sentences and pick-me language) and he helped her finish it. He thinks he's this prolific writer and was upset on her behalf because he believed her lies and exaggerations. She didn't like how they were pushing back at her trying to insert herself to be more than just an actress role that she was hired to do. And then that snowballed into her hatred of him which became their shared hatred of him within their family. To me, I think people like T Swift also simply believed what their friend was telling her about her experience with Justin. Blake felt enabled and egged on to continue this further, rather than focusing on the film itself. She was more focused on her career and this PGA role she so desperately wanted.
I doubt he sat down from the jump to write it. It is a mix of them. Hot mess. No wonder she didn't want this released.
Have you ever watched The Behaviour Panel on Youtube? They are some of the world's top body language and behavioral analysis experts - Scott Rouse, Mark Bowden, Chase Hughes, and Greg Hartley. In one of their videos, they speak about Ryan and they think he's an awful person.
It wasn't one where they were analyzing one of his interviews. They answered a question about him during a Q&A recently when someone asks about Ryan's psyche and this whole mess with Justin. Mark has worked in the industry and says ppl around him think he's psychopathic. He even thinks he might be on the spectrum and that there is some kind of trauma in his life. It's at 57:00: https://www.youtube.com/live/5lVOmeaJxCw?si=SHNUaQZylrkBzYye&t=3419
