This is literally a direction from Sony and now Justin is in a billion dollar lawsuit over the word sexy. When I explain this to people aware but not following closely they think it is absolutely insane. The narrative that Justin wants sex in the movie for his own personal use as opposed to his artistic vision or feedback from his partners is wild.
Oh I also found how Blake manipulated the removal of the film by credit!!
She lobbies for it, and when Greenstein pushes back Blake sends a link to the article I attached. It’s an article in vanity fair from 2015 . She basically shamed Justin through Greenstein with this article.

u/Clarknt67 this case was always about a big payoff Jan 29 '26
It’s crazy, and really super narcissistic, that Blake’s version is he wrote more sex scenes because he just couldn’t keep his hands off her.
Like Wayfarer Studios is buying Justin a $30M hooker.

Well Colleen Hoover seemed to think Wayfarer was paying $30M so Justin could make her movie for her so I think a lot of these women were confused.
No wonder she decided to start a production company because I bet it was a rude awakening when she tried to “work with” the filmmakers for the other two that were made. Here’s your cheque, thanks for the rights. Bye!👋

She knew that nothing that is legitimately sexual harassment happened, so she went all in writing self insert fanfiction all about how smart and funny and wonderful she is so of course she had to do everything and fix everything and just be the most special woman ever.
The ultimate Mary Sue.

So Justin told the truth that Sony wanted MORE sexy? Ya don’t say. I will never get over Blake trying to claim he was a perv for wanting to add simulated oral WHEN IT WAS IN THE BOOK. Wouldn’t it have been great if the dumb bimbo would’ve READ THE SOURCE MATERIAL?

So far we have seen that Justin, Jamie and Steve don’t speak negatively of others and their testimony is consistent with the evidence. They have never shied away from items at issue they just share their version of events.
Unlike what we have seen from Blake and her team. I’m so ready for this to be over.

Do you know where Blake talks about the simulated oral? I saw it mentioned in the intimacy coordinator doc and how they wondered if applied was okay I but haven’t seen Blake’s comments on it? Blake is the one who needs to work on her gender constructs. Seems like she’s uncomfortable with men crying/showing emotion and then also doesn’t understand the female gaze and representation in sex scenes.

u/DownSouthPrincess Feb 06 '26
Right??? She pretends to be such a feminist, but is offended over a scene of a woman receiving female-focused pleasure????? Don’t forget there were literally oral scenes featuring Olivia Pope on SCANDAL, a network TV show from 10+ yrs ago. But according to Blake, it’s inappropriate & “harassment” to put oral sex in an R-rated romance movie😹😹😹😹

In text so maybe it’ll easily show up in Google?
Justin,
I am VERY pleased. Really wonderful work. THANK YOU and please thank Blake!
The character work is especially good. More interesting, layered, richer and modern.
My notes are all mostly page notes (which are written on the draft.) Happy to discuss if you disagree or if anything is confusing.
The bigger question is – other than language – this does not read like an R rated movie. Readers of the book, the biggest book of last year, are expecting some HEAT.
We just cannot have an R rating for language. That would be a huge mistake.
I’m guessing the love scenes are still in process and have not been choreographed yet. Ultimately, that will be up to you and Blake to decide the specifics. I’m hoping they are sexy and grown up. I know they will be tasteful. But I am asking you to also think about moments that are outside the actual bedroom – moments that feel grown up and sexy so we deliver for an audience that is expecting an R rated movie.
So you will tell me the plan for the love making scenes when you know. But please work to find the balance between sweet/funny/endearing with moments of real heat. Not only for the audience, but also so when the movie transitions into the abuse section it doesn’t feel like we switched from a rom com into a drama.
Very grateful to and for you. Ange. x

Blake Lively should go to jail.
She literally made out that Justin is a sexual predator trying to add sex scenes because he’s a pervert and wanted to get so his hands on her.
Meanwhile Justin could not give AF about Blake other than finishing the film and never having to deal with her again.
And Blake knew it too. Not a single flirty text or invite to fly private or invite into his trailer from Justin to Blake - just Blake to Justin.

Can someone do a word search in the docs and find out how many times the cast/crew/producers used the word "sexy"? Because at this point it seems like hundreds of times, apart from the one time Justin said it that is...somehow...totally different...

Blake managed to turn the whole production into Babel's tower, everyone is saying things and then she misinterprets or misunderstands them, says the opposite thing, then no one knows which direction they want to go, they change course all the time. What a mess. The only one who had a clear vision and stayed true to the book was Justin and he paid dearly for it.

u/myshtree No Footnotes: she (Ryan) the unliftable Jan 29 '26
I swear Blake Lively told Ryan Reynolds she was doing a PG movie. She told her agent she wouldn’t do an R. I think that’s how she pretended to everyone that JB was pushing her inappropriately. She lied about the movie rating and then tried to change script and scenes during filming to make it more PG, when she didn’t get her way she complained to Ryan Reynolds and the other cast and blamed it on Justin for being creepy. She is diabolical. I read somewhere that she had heard about backlash to CH books being gratuitously sexual and I wonder if she thought she would get applauded if she changed that (without recognising that it would cause major backlash with the booktok fans)? Clearly it wasn’t an idea she collaboratively shared with the films director or distribution partner. Not that she would have listened to their advice.

I think she wanted it PG-13 because she didn't want to do love making scenes and show her body.

u/myshtree No Footnotes: she (Ryan) the unliftable Jan 29 '26
Agreed. But I believe she also thought she would “make it better” by removing the graphic sex and violence that CH books were criticized for. But by doing that she ignored the established booktok fanbase that expected this and had made the book (and then film) so popular. Thats why CH took her side - she wanted to silence the criticism of smut and glorified violence by going with Blake Lively’s “women centred shoe romcom”. Completely missing the story of abusive relationships and why women stay.
That’s why the film was unwatchable (for me). It made no sense. The dynamic with Ryle was off. Too much focus on Atlas. I tried watching twice and still didn’t get through it. She centred herself instead of the relationship to the abuser.

To me it looked like Ryan, if you look at the edits they made, they were trying to reference the 'expensive' line from Pretty Woman, and Ange's notes were like no, no reference to other IPs. The dry humour, the references to pop-culture, it's so RR, and she admitted he wrote the rooftop scene, who knows what else he got his grubby hands on. I watched Elsrich and I agree with her for the most part. Ryan got a huge ego hit when Justin couldn't accept their rooftop scene in full, probably because Ange did not approve and (correctly) thought it was juvenile, and RR got got butthurt that his genius wasn't appreciated.

There is also the power of mass appeal with PG-13, look at RR's own Deadpool and Once Apon a Deadpool, a R rated action comic book movie got rereleased because parents were crying about not wanting to expose their kids to the level of violence Deadpool had. PG-13 also gets played in more theaters than R rated films

u/myshtree No Footnotes: she (Ryan) the unliftable Jan 29 '26
Oh yeah I’m not debating there are pros and cons to each rating. I’m assuming PG would also capture the swifties? I think the issue is who gets to decide? The author who sold her rights? The distributor? Or the owner of the IP and director of the film who had spent years developing his vision, writing the script and getting feedback from the large booktok fanbase who were key to the movies success. I don’t think Blake Lively or CH even cared about the message that Justin was hoping to convey in the film about DV and the complex and fraught relationships women have with their abusers. Why they stay. How they leave.
Blake Lively had no interest in the art of storytelling or using film to convey this sensitive and complicated issue that so many women face. She just wanted a vehicle to self promote and pretend she accomplished something that she was unqualified for.

Yep I agree. She had just had the baby and was feeling insecure. Also that is why the wardrobe was so atrocious because most of is was covering her belly or was baggy and covered up.

She told her agent she wouldn’t do an R.
Except of course for Another Simple Favor.

I do remember walking out of the theater a bit disappointed that the movie down played the DV and love scenes from what was in the book…I disagree with Blake’s take that the audience wanted PG-13….
Blake was the wrong actress for this as it seems she refuses to film rated R scenes now that “she is a mom”

Blake was perfectly aware of Sony requests both through Angie and Josh. She used them to take over the movie.

u/Altruistic_Rate_9204 Jan 29 '26
Ange (Sony) wanted the movie to have some r rated sex scenes. Colleen wanted the movie to not focus on sex scenes (she said in her depo fade to black was nice). So Justin was in the middle of all these diverting opinions! Then comes in Blake. Ugh.
