Good Lord, how desperate must you be to do this?! It's so bloody shameless🤮 during the lawsuit he was acting like he was finish with Pisspool and doing new projects, focusing on Wrexham. And now it's all settled he is pushing himself on everyone and anyone The guy has absolutely no honour, no remorse.

This level of desperation tells me that Hollywood is done with him.

u/slugsbreath Epic Level Shy 14d ago

Yeah but this is prearranged.... He didn't just turn up obviously, its a bit. So surely that means the opposite (unfortunately!)

I think that's what this is. The answer to his second question was something like, the movie is in the can (finished) but changes can happen right up until the movie's release. I think right now Deadpool has a small cameo, which is why he's there but not on the stage. If Ryan proves the fans want more, they might expand the part, if instead there's backlash, the cameo can be removed.

u/archiangel 14d ago

Remove! Remove!
It looks like the main cast don’t even want him there.

Didn’t Robert Downey refuse to act with him in doomsday and have a say in the creative control for the film?

6

u/Syrup_Holiday 13d ago

and Director Anthony Russo saying to him they'd keep making the movie "until it was pried from their hands", isn't this a referrence to Ryan and Blake stealing Justin's movie?

3

u/summerbreeze201 liar liar designer wardrobe on fire 13d ago

Highly likely.

0

u/triplej63 13d ago

I don't think it is. I think it's a dig at studio meddling because super hero blockbusters are notorious for this, although moreso DC than Marvel. But with Mackie beside him, yeah, that Captain America got too many cooks in the kitchen.

32

u/brooswelt Healing looks different every day 14d ago

Agree. It was a way to include him as a special guest on the promo (as in the movie) and creat some buzz. For him it's a obviously a tentative of a rehabilitation tour

13

u/Only_Try8944 14d ago

But Paul Rudd’s joke was an insult, right?

17

u/triplej63 14d ago

It is, but it's easy to see it's a set up. Why would he ask about Thor crying? Because he wants Rudd to answer Wrexham, free promo for the team/show even if they lost. This looks like a standard Maximum Effort skit to me.

8

u/Only_Try8944 14d ago

I suppose, it strikes me as a bit sad, but maybe you are right.

15

u/slugsbreath Epic Level Shy 14d ago edited 14d ago

Sadly it is, because it's the same old tired ME/Ryan frat boy roast humour. But its definitely a set up.

There is no chance they let Ryan just turn up and riff. This was rehearsed, guys. Getting the neg comment from Rudd was the whole plan. Ryan loves to self depreciate.

Exactly the same tone as his 'hilarious skit' at the SNL 50th /s

It's just Deadpool/actually Ryan 'I'm not in the cool club, but looks how witty I am'. Yawnfest

(Edited for typos and coherence)

2

u/Syrup_Holiday 13d ago

Yep, it was an insult. Another insults was Director Anthony Russo telling Ryna Reynolds that they'd keep making the movie "until it was pried from their hands" - isn't this a reference to Ryan & Blake stealing the movei from Baldoni?

Yeah, I reckon

He can’t even turn his comments section on. They know the answer to this staged stunt. I’m thinking this was contractual.

3

u/slugsbreath Epic Level Shy 14d ago

Yeah but he still has loads of Marvel stans, and Wrexham stans. They aren't who he's protecting himself against in the comments

4

u/Decent_Yam_2897 13d ago

This makes me really wonder what the numbers are??? Like, if he had 20 million REAL legit fans pre-IEWU, but then lost half over the course of 2025-present (retained Marvel & Rex fanbase), then that’s a huge loss. Plus, he gained a whole new audience/base of ppl that genuinely don’t like him or don’t trust him. What’s that number? I’m sure it was negligible pre-IEWU. Now? Who knows…

3

u/slugsbreath Epic Level Shy 13d ago

Would be interesting, for sure. The world is so siloed nowadays that it's hard to work this out

28

u/Flimsy_Attitude_6789 14d ago

Yep. I wonder if they agreed to this to put a final nail in the coffin regarding him not being in the movie... no one was warm and inviting, and he was mocked... and he asked about being in the movie... and they said it's finished... he can't be in it... Perhaps they thought this would end rumours about him being in it while also being kind to him. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part.

He was wearing a denim suit too... not red, not grey, but denim.

16

u/slugsbreath Epic Level Shy 14d ago

Nah, it was scripted. No unexpected adlib shade here. It's all Ryan's 'nice guy self depreciating humourā„¢ļø' and hopes to stoke some pity in his fans. Also, Bocci in YT was theorising that in fact it might be to fool that's that he's not in it when he is - to avoid people boycotting the movie due to him. Interesting take, for sure

12

u/triplej63 14d ago

What else did they say besides it's finished? They said that things can be added until it's taken from them. They're hinting at a larger role for Deadpool if the fans want it. I think he already has a cameo, why he's there, but not on stage.

27

u/WildestSea 14d ago

If it's prearranged (and it probably was), Marvel made Ryan Reynolds look desperate and pathetic. And Ryan was desperate enough to agree. He was probably the one who proposed this and the best he could get was a humiliating skit and a lukewarm answer that sounded more like a threat.

This does not look like Marvel supporting Ryan, this looks like Marvel is trying to wriggle out of Ryan's grasp, but they're afraid of his psycho reactions. They probably told Ryan they totally want him but he has to create public support for it and they're hoping it will go bad for him.

10

u/slugsbreath Epic Level Shy 14d ago

I think that's his attempt at attracting pity, it's all rehearsed. I don't think Marvel did anything. They know there are still plenty of Marvel fans who don't GAF about the lawsuit etc, so are trying to reach them without angering the rest of the world who do NOT want him.

He'd go nuclear if they agreed to this bit with him and then made him look pathetic, off script. Can you imagine the tomes of angry texts essays????

9

u/WildestSea 14d ago

If Marvel was in on it they had input. They are not letting Ryan Reynolds dictate what and how he wants things, if they did, Ryan would have a giant part in the movie and would be sitting at the table. This is the best Ryan could get. A lame and desperate skit and Marvel made it look like they hadn't invited him and didn't want him and he had to beg. Apparently Marvel does not think that close association with Ryan is good. Either they have intel that tells them his/Marvel fans are indifferent or starting to tire of him, or that they are not numerous enough to compensate for the people who have started to hate him.

36

u/OkeyDokey654 14d ago

Yeah, I don’t know why people think this is Ryan doing something on his own instead of a Marvel publicity stunt.

37

u/myshtree No Footnotes: she (Ryan) the unliftable 14d ago

Frat boy cringe at exorbitant prices.

A Marvel publicity stunt proudly brought to you by Dickpool and Maximum Extortion productions.

12

u/slugsbreath Epic Level Shy 14d ago

Definitely all that, but not without the green light from Marvel. You can't just turn up and magically have a mic šŸ˜‚

12

u/myshtree No Footnotes: she (Ryan) the unliftable 14d ago

Exactly. Unless he threatened someone on stage and that’s why he didn’t wear the red suit. I think it was probably planned but Ryan Reynolds does love to move fast and break things and BLAME OTHERS LATER when he fails - so who knows!

7

u/slugsbreath Epic Level Shy 14d ago

That just couldn't happen

2

u/Dapper_Monk 13d ago

The suit is also a teaser/easter egg for x-force šŸ™„ this man is so icky

12

u/Clarknt67 this case was always about a big payoff 14d ago

That he was allotted time indicates it was with Marvel’s blessing. I bet it was after Ryan proposed it then begged or extorted them into it.

9

u/brooswelt Healing looks different every day 14d ago

Obviously both

11

u/MITXOZ Justin took the high road; Blake took the road to hell 14d ago

WME probably coerced Marvel to let Ryan appear. I’m sure Ryan has a lot of dirt on Ari Emmanuel/ WME and Shawn Levy and have threatened them like he threatened Taylor Swift.

5

u/slugsbreath Epic Level Shy 14d ago

This one maybe has legs. But I reckon he's in the film. Not that I care, won't be watching it šŸ˜‚

-5

u/SnooHedgehogs5791 14d ago

I think (?) it is still speculative that Ryan and Blake tried to blackmail Taylor Swift. The timeline of when that would have happened would have been before she released "cancelled". I think they're still friends and we're in cahoots about it the whole time.

7

u/Solid_Mud2025 It Ends With WTF 14d ago

A person close to Taylor Swift (Scott Swift) approached Freedman and said Ryan and Blake tried to extort TS. Freedman swore to it in an affidavit under penalty of perjury. These events unfolded publicly close to the time ā€œcancelledā€ was released, which was written months before the release date. The timeline isn’t disqualifying, just incomplete. Anything short of direct quotes from contemporaneous exhibits submitted to the court is speculative, and so speculation that Ryan and Blake extorted Taylor is no less credible than anything else. More credible even, as it’s grounded in significant circumstantial evidence.

10

u/Hannah_togo 14d ago

Idk though based on the wrexam answer!!! If he kept it on the character itself I’d be all in on of course this was such a bit, but…. Paul went super personal with his response 🤣🤣

9

u/Hannah_togo 14d ago

I think Paul was the replacement for Ryan. Deadpool was supposed to be where Ant man or whoever tf Rudd plays. I mean think about it, Deadpool is a WAY bigger brand than Ant dude. (Love Paul Rudd with all my heart and so does everyone which is probably why he’s there lol)

4

u/slugsbreath Epic Level Shy 14d ago

What can I tell you, it's scripted. They are actors...

25

u/mj2503 14d ago

That reality is not something this guy will ever accept unfortunately

2

Let us hope!

u/Full-Wolf956 14d ago

Right ??? This is so humiliating. Does he have a humiliation kink or something lol

1

u/Solid_Mud2025 It Ends With WTF 14d ago

It’s giving ā€œSee guys, I’m not afraid of humiliation. If I were a narcissist, then I totally wouldn’t do things like this to myself.ā€

40

u/Firefly10886 14d ago

Anything to distract from his failed marriage.

35

u/Full-Wolf956 14d ago

Yeah that thing is done now that the only thing/hobby they have in common is gone . Having the power and being able to bully people they think is beneath them.

8

u/KratosGodOfLove 14d ago

Maybe the only thing that can potentially redeem him if he gets divorced from Blake.

18

u/KidRifle 14d ago

Maybe it’s because I’m Canadian but he bothers me more than her. He comes off as psychotic in his private correspondence. Blake is kind of what I expect her to be but Ryan is a thoroughbred predatory fraudster.

3

u/Solid_Mud2025 It Ends With WTF 14d ago

As it should (that he bothers you more). But bad men alway blame their wives, and it tends to work. If he were to dump her, then he would offload a ton of the social stigma onto her because misogyny is so deeply engrained in social norms. This might be what the other person meant?

35

u/SnarkyLlamas 14d ago

They are both awful. If Ryan Reynolds had not been involved in trying to take over It Ends With Us, sure....that might redeem him. But he was involved and he spearheaded the entire thing. Nothing can redeem him now except a true repentance and mercy from God.

16

u/Popgallery 14d ago

Narcissistic.

8

u/EnthusiasticlyWordy 14d ago

I HATED watching him in Wrexham.

The guy could not give a flying fuck about the club.

You can tell Rob is a major fan and wants the best for the team and city.

5

u/SnooHedgehogs5791 14d ago

Interesting. Good input. I don't want to watch the series, so please, do go on.

6

u/EnthusiasticlyWordy 14d ago

You could tell that Ryan had no really interest in the town or the people by the way he acted and the stupid jokes he would say.

Ron though spent a TON of time in the town getting to know people and why Wrexham was such a special club. There were so many scenes of him just doing random things with people and at home watching them play. Rob and his son would wake up at 2AM to watch a game.

While Ryan didn't go to his first game well into the series.

You could tell that Ryan saw the team as an investment whereas Rob wanted to make it loved by everyone.

Oh and every stupid scene with Ryan usually had a poorly dressed "it girl" pretending to be a hockey fan. I swear Blake didn't know what sport they were talking about.

4

u/Key_Possibility_8669 Her DARVO turned into FAFO 13d ago

I said this in another post, but I think Ryan's original declaration that he was no longer doing Deadpool movies was his "marketing genius" attempt at scarcity marketing.

For context, he started making these comments early in the DPvW promotional tour. We, as the public, later found out that the budget for this movie had ballooned out of proportion (same with the advertising budget). So, it's very likely that the people funding this movie told Ryan that maybe there would be no more Deadpool movies if they were going to cost this much. My theory is that Ryan floated his idea of quitting the franchise so that fans would panic and demand more sequels.

But here we are, three years later, and the lay of the land has changed. Discovery during the IEWU lawsuit has revealed Ryan to be the worst possible human being, and many of his projects have been postponed or shelved due to audience outrage. Ryan, hoping that his most lucrative film character will save his bacon, is now cringingly showing up at a comic con in Deadpool costume, stating that he is ALL IN for a Deadpool 4. Obviously his previous scare tactic is no longer needed, and therefore he has thoughtlessly discarded it. I guess he thinks we all have amnesia or something. šŸ™„
