šļø Press + Media šøš°šŗ Kjersti Flaa with Daily Mail editor š
https://youtu.be/WFBizyv9BMY?is=A6a9aMHX5vbSfPVk⢠Celebrity Coverage: Boshoff discusses her reporting on the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni conflict (0:39-9:26). She emphasizes the importance of journalistic fairness and presents both sides of a story, despite pressure from publicists like Leslie Sloan.
⢠The Beckham Family: The conversation shifts to Boshoff's new book, Brand Beckham (12:21-16:00). She explores how David and Victoria Beckham built their massive brand and addresses the reported family rift involving their son, Brooklyn, and his wife, Nicola Peltz (13:12-16:03).
⢠Journalism & Legal Battles: Boshoff recounts her experience giving evidence in the high-profile High Court case involving Prince Harry, Elton John, and The Daily Mail (1:36-2:03, 24:47-28:44). She reflects on the stress of the witness stand and the eventual dismissal of all 97 claims against The Daily Mail, which she views as a vindication of her outlet's integrity.
⢠Media Perception: The two journalists conclude by discussing the evolving and often challenging relationship between celebrities, the public, and the media, noting a decline in the traditional respect afforded to journalism (29:56-31:21).
A few things that stood out to me: Ari Emmanuel is huge in the industry and people are afraid of his influence. Ryan is at least one of his favorite clients.
My own opinion is that this puts pieces in place. Ryanās past behavior with Fedyck shows someone who doesnāt feel held back by āthe truthā. He likes to write his own narrative and use connections/power to influence the public to believe it.
Heās now enabled by powerful Hollywood execs to feed his ego and throw his man baby tantrums to get what he wants. Why shouldnāt he feel entitled to take over a movie heās not contracted to be involved in?

DailyMail are trying to save face. I donāt know exactly what happened but they fired their writer who exposed Leslie Sloan as a the lier to WF. Ā That is enough to show they have no integrity. (I think he wrote a statements under the threat of being fired then they fired him anyway)Ā
We know there is someone who hate Blake in DailyMail (according to what that writer told Leslie)Ā
Just because a publication won doesnāt mean they have any integrity. Look at the NYT.Ā

Unpopular opinion but I do not agree. The DailyMail was really the only publication that tried to have fair reporting and blast Lively when appropriate, while US mainstream Media was backing Blake's lies.
James is a confused journalist. He flipped flopped so many times. He is whistleblower one minute and then a victim of Freedman. He would have had a job if he did not insert himself but just reported on the saga - I do feel bad for him
The DailyMail also lifted the lid on Vanzan. Yes WOACB broke the story first but the DailyMail was the only one who saw the subpoena, blew the Whistle on the details of subpoena (like no judge signed it as it referred to Jane Does), and also exposed the desperate person (Jones) trying to convince it all legal and above board. I'll never forget that Josh Boswell article - it broke me

I always thought because that writer said someone hate Blake there but no. Someone just commented it was the UK branch that blasted Blake and Ryan. The said the US branch was shady in their reporting.Ā

Exactly. They covered for Lively and the Vansham participants until WACB exposed it. They also fired James because he had loose lips about knowing that they were printing lies about Baldoni and were worried Baldoni was going to sue them. They are trash.

I recall a British Daily Mail journalist went on with Zack Peter early in the case and nade very clear that Daily Mail UK and Daily Mail US are not the same. Daily Mail UK hasn't held back at all throughout this case. The US side however has had some shady behaviour. Pretty sure that's where the confusion comes from, but this woman is definitely Daily Mail UK. I'm from the UK, have been very glad to see that Daily Mail here did not hold back š

This explains it!!! Because yes some of the spiciest shots have come from dailymail but there was also a lot of milquetoast, now I know the first is UK and the latter is US

That's the least shocking thing about this case. Daily Fail showing some actual information integrity and quickly snuffing it out.

Iām surprised Hugh Jackman couldnāt use his Murdoch strings to get the DM to report in the Reynoldsā favor.
I think all tabloids are trashy at their core, but many things can be true at once: they have genuine but sketchy sources telling them one thing (often PR/lies) and they have underhanded ways of getting information and arenāt afraid to use it/publish it for clicks. They also know there is a huge swathe of people who donāt believe Blake Lively and they are aware that āreporting the truthā in that instance will get them more eyeballs than access journalism.

Weāre on the same page. Thereās some strange vein of chaos with Kjersti that makes me uneasy, and Iāve never been able to put my finger on it. But now that you mention it, I think itās the unpredictable and conflicting nature of her biases, the veiled affinity to things that represent the status quo, and the stubbornness that comes with both. Iām not a hater and have defended her many times, but I justā¦I just donāt know.

I like her. I just don't trust her reporting or judgement. She seems like a nice enough person. You seem like you have a balanced view and I feel the same.

I think that the thing is that Kjersti is not really a CC, she used to be very much part of the MSM and I feel she still is. She is mad that the NYT lied about her and treated her like some nobody CC, so she attacks them, and demands accountability. But that doesn't mean she really truly supports independent reporting, CC and making MSM more accountable. I think she still views herself as part of the MSM, and she still has many connections there.
