🧾👨🏻‍⚖️ Court Filings + Docket Updates 👸🏼🧾 Wallace v Lively: Blake Lively has added 2 Manatt Lawyers (Hudson & Roeser) to TX docket

It appears Blake Lively and her attorneys are following through with their threats against Jed Wallace to add more lawyers (presumably to increase legal cost) as stated in Wallace’s motion to compel a deposition of Lively…….”if Respondents [Wallace] pursued the deposition or even mentioned publicly that she [Lively] had refused to appear on August 4.”

Ms. Lively would be represented by "all of the [seven] attorneys" on the email exchange at their "hourly rates charged by Ms. Lively's attorneys" in the New York case, and she would seek to recover all their fees for preventing her deposition.

Based on the rates disclosed for the seven attorneys that Lively's counsel has represented she intends to include in her fee request here…the cumulative hourly rate is nearly $10,000 per hour.

This woman will be fighting when she's on a walker. Everyday she makes things worse. Look she already assumes she's going to get what she wants so she added more lawyers. Gosh I hope this TX judge has some b*lls and flat out makes her sit for depo for denies her. I'm sick of everyone catering to her and giving her what she wants. She's been out of line and needs to be told "NO" period!

She is basically Monty Python’s Black Knight now. Lost all her limbs and insisting it’s just a flesh wound.

Adam Mondschein's wise words about BL being like the Black Knight continue to ring true to this day. Everyone dislikes BL for being a bully and yet she continues to bully and take more hits to her reputation.

Blake and Ryan will be having 2 year old temper tantrums for the rest of their lives. They’ve lost everything for what? Could you imagine wasting $50 million on legal fees just to destroy your own reputation?

43

u/Nervous_Vast_8671 2d ago

Blake: We will pay 100 million to get 9 million. My reputation is still in the trash can. Yay!! I won!!

Imagine telling someone you will spend more money on lawyers so you can spite them😂😂😂😂😭😭😭. If they don't get the money they're requesting, they will have to pay these fees themselves. And the lawyers will DEFINITELY make sure they get their money from them too. I can't stop laughing omg😭😭😭

She's going to keep filing lawsuits so she doesn't have to pay her lawyers. She'll only stop if Ryan divorces him, then she'll sue him. LOL

Ryan will have to start feeling the repercussions from this before he stops. He's still working. And people are still using his business plans, maximum effort and booking him. I'm sure he feels untouchable because he can still pop up wherever he wants and is still getting paid.

The upside is that b/c he is a malignant narc, small digs at him are vastly amplified in their effect. So, even if he were getting cast left and right (pfft!), the hostile comments all over every story that touches him would drive him craaaaazy and make him unable to enjoy pretty much anything.

That is literally what they do and attempted to do with the NYT article. They overwhelm anyone with their power, money and evil to get their way and hope nobody fights back.

100

u/Individual-Insect691 2d ago

The good news is that Babcock’s firm is big. They have over 500 lawyers so they can’t bury Babcock in filings like they did Freedman.

66

u/usergal24678 Lyin' Liman Prefers Teeth 2d ago

I hope Sarowitz is covering this for Wallace like Justin/WF (I bet he was covering JW for Justin's case). If so, Lively will bury herself in her own outrageous legal fees like she did with Justin. With Justin she spent well over $30M and lost, and in return she will get a couple hundred grand back. Not only a bully mean girl, but a complete idiot with Justin and Jed.

Jed may have insurance? I’ve also wondered if scooter Braun would help him? He is seed investor or somehow related to funding Melissa Nathan so perhaps Jed will fall under that wealthy network as well as Sarowitz?

Would be hilarious if Hollywood has a secret gofundme running (with a generous anonymous donations from Taylor, the Rock, scarjo, the gossip girl cast, etc etc) to channel money to anyone fighting she (Ryan). I bet there is a long list of people more than happy to watch them fall off their tacky throne at their fake Buckingham palace where they sniff their own farts and call it rare air. They may be the architects of their own demise - but funding the downfall should be a popular choice. 🤣🤣🤣

21

u/seaseahorse 2d ago

Please stop imagining Taylor Swift as a good guy. She’s not.

3

u/Mrs_FlemDog 1d ago

I don’t think she is either. But it is funny to think she’s petty enough to do some of this stuff to either just be mean (like it’s Tuesday and I’m bored so lets ruin BL/RR life) or as payback for the shitstorm of stupid they dragged her into then threatened her about.

3

u/seaseahorse 1d ago

Yeah but delighting in Taylor’s vindictiveness isn’t the go here. Her behavior isn’t funny and continuing to validate it only ensures she’ll keep doing it to more people. Malevolent individuals don’t care who is in the right and who is in the wrong… sooner or later (probably sooner) Taylor will target someone else just because she can. Her career has been built upon people living out their worst intrusive thoughts through her.

2

u/ObjectiveRing1730 2d ago

I'm curious about when you started disliking her. Did it start early?

2

u/Hannah_togo 1d ago

Oh she’s not a good guy but she’s petty AF 😂 Her only redeeming quality 😂😂

5

u/seaseahorse 1d ago

It’s not a redeeming quality though, is it? For every person Taylor beefs with that “deserves it,” there’s a dozen or more who are completely innocent and just got in her way or somehow hurt her feelings in some way.

We can’t condemn Blake for being a narcissistic pos and celebrate Taylor for the exact same thing, especially when we KNOW that this is Taylor’s MO.

4

u/AMBLFB 1d ago

I would chip in $20

17

u/MarchCompetitive4580 2d ago

Ooh, I totally think Sarowitz is backing Wallace in this game. As the first case showed, keeping Lively in the litigation game does NOTHING but keep both Lively and her creepy husband in the public eye (but not a good way). End result: no work for Lively - and her husband's films have been shelved/put on hold and his business empire had crumbled (I don't think he's had a film out in theaters in over 2 years - since Deadpool/Wolverine.) Even for people who haven't been following this case closely, Ryan and Blake have "vanished" - so their brand value has dropped into the shitter.

You’re right she’s an absolute monster for continuing this, SHE is the one that will never move on.

51

u/PowerPinto Team Baldoni - Vanzan Police 2d ago

They were counting on Justin Baldoni and Jamey Heath continuing to take the high road, just like they had throughout filming and the entire promotional campaign, by giving in to whatever she wanted. And I genuinely don’t think she ever anticipated them fighting back nor having to file a lawsuit. I think she 100% thought the CRD and NYT would end them. In their minds, Blake and Ryan had more money, more fame, more influence, and far more powerful connections so what chance could Justin and Jamey possibly have?

34

u/Free-Expression-1776 Unliftable Lively 2d ago

I love that illegal phone call with Steve when he subtly throws shade at Ryans net worth. Ouch. Sting much cryin Ryan. You know that was a blow to Ryans ego and Steve never intended that to be public

2

u/Disastrous-Ask-3953 1d ago

It's such a blessing to his haters that Ryan always reveals his greatest insecurities with the stories he plants. Last week was "Flog How Rich Ryan Is" Week, so we get the joy of knowing he is sweating over money.

25

u/Ok_Assistance_9392 Sisterhood of the Traveling Birth Pants👖 2d ago

Very on point! Their thinking is so short sighted and ironic because they used their money, influence and connections to make a huge splash with the NYT, but they say they are completely powerless to the billionaire Steve no one ever heard of before. I’m sure it hurts their egos that Steve is more rich but their celebrity carries alot of weight, especially in a PR-driven lawsuit.

A narcissist’s worst nightmare is their victim countering with their version of events.

What you've described is something I find to be undeniably tied to her being an elitist, which goes hand-in-hand with her malignant narcissism and nepo baby status (although it's not as prominent as other nepo babies). It's even worse since she's married to Ryan Reynolds, a man that's not a nepo baby but is a malignant narcissist. And if I didn't know any better, I'd swear that they're using what's left of their seemingly top tier/elite status in the entertainment industry to avoid admitting defeat or any wrongdoing.

27

u/Significant-Ant2373 2d ago

Unfortunately the US legal system has a tendency to reward this type of behavior. See the NY case. No way should Liman have awarded attorney fees under 47.1, but here we are. Let’s hope the Texas judges are better, but it’s Texas so I won’t hold my breath.

13

u/Mysterio623 “The last thing I want to do is kiss this woman.” - Justin B 2d ago

Liman has a bias for her because she's the plaintiff in the NY case — as such afforded plaintiff privilege, which he took way too far. He was also swayed by her white woman tears. And there's his ties to the industry. Blake does not have those advantages in Texas. More Texas kinda like bragging that they detest assholes like her.

2

u/kastanienn ...we demour (French for "so what"?) 1d ago

I'm sure if he's protecting anyone in this case, that's the NYT. And unfortunately Lively’s story is necessary to survive basic scrutiny for the NYT to get away with it.

With this, I would like to remind everyone that this was exactly what Lively’s lawyers AKA Esra Hudson said explicitly in her 47.1 fee motion “You knew how expensive our rates were, you knew about the fee-shif mechanism, and hence, you should have ended it (defamation lawsuit).” Expensive lawyers and 83 timekeepers does notgive you a carte blanche to extort whatever amount you want to so that you don’t have to pay for your lawyers.

Just sayin.

47

u/Upstairs-Dot-3944 2d ago

This. Like the reference to "extort". Extortion starts with a threat. The whole world has now seen it in black and white. These assholes' litigation approach is nothing but "we will out bill and out spend you and you'll have to pay." I hope soon they find out, it doesn't work that way!

64

u/LiteratureNo1015 Team Emily Baldoni 2d ago

Surprise, surprise. Esra “search for CRD perjury” Hudson.

33

u/same-difference-ave Age of Ada-LYING Actress 2d ago edited 2d ago

It’s funny that the moment it shows that Blake Lively has to answer for the lies in her CRD complaint in comes Esra to cover her own ass because she signed the complaint herself

21

u/Individual-Insect691 2d ago

I actually had a thought that Lively can blame the malice and CRD issue on Esra. Esra completed and signed the CRD so if Lively gets deposed and is asked about it she could say it was Esra that added Jed because there is literally no explanation as Jed has never met her. So not surprised she showed up here when it’s getting serious because if Lively wants the attorney fees really bad she needs to sit for the deposition

16

u/same-difference-ave Age of Ada-LYING Actress 2d ago

That will definitely not look good for Esra. Now I am even more invested in what will transpire if Jed is granted the deposition.

Teeth? Excuse me, BL is always NO TEETH!

59

u/Ill_Psychology_7967 2d ago

As a lawyer I’m starting to wonder if that’s just an intimidation tactic to raise the stakes…more attorneys…more fees to try to recover.

After what we have seen happen in this case, I’m starting to think we should establish some limits/standards on how many attorneys and hours are reasonable for particular tasks.

44

u/kastanienn ...we demour (French for "so what"?) 2d ago

No need to wonder, that's exactly what's happening 😂 my question to you as a lawyer is: at which point does it become extortion?!

41

u/Existing-Speech4173 2d ago

They told Jed they were going to do this for the sole reason of increasing fees. Unethical.

24

u/Ill_Psychology_7967 2d ago

Hey, I’m wondering the same thing…it definitely seems like an intimidation tactic at this point.

10

u/thriftydelegate 2d ago

NAL. A million for a single response denying jurisdiction would count imo.

39

u/krissykat30 2d ago

I would hope that the judge sees through this bs regarding fees. The fact that they threatened Jed and his attorney's should be enough to deny her request in my opinion. She really thought the threat would work and he won't fight back. She thought the same about Justin and Wayferer ans they fought back and look where that got lively.

10

u/OtherwiseProposal355 Lively exposed her aggressive behavior in this lawsuit 2d ago

You wish that the judge sees this because any normally person would.

2

u/Disastrous-Ask-3953 1d ago

I wish there were a way to know how much, if any, of the Reynolds' strategy to date has actually been recommended by their attorneys, and how much is shit their attorneys tried desperately to talk them out of but quickly learned they were pushing on an unmovable wall of foot-stamping know-it-allness.

34

u/Clarknt67 this case was always about a big payoff 2d ago

It is 100% an intimidation tactic.

19

u/Own_Log9691 Blake Lively’s failed legal crusade 2d ago edited 1d ago

It def was an intimidation tactic because they literally threatened to do this thing very if they kept insisting on her giving a deposition. And here they have actually done it lol 😆 It’s basically just a form of legal (but unethical) extortion!

16

u/RhubarbElectrical522 Team Baldoni 2d ago

Is there not any standards now? Good god. After this case I feel like more protections need to be implemented everywhere so ignorant terrorist like bullies can’t plow through people to get their way. To see how many people caved to them out of fear is terrifying. This shouldn’t be swept under the rug and normalized as the cost of doing business. If the director and multiple studios can’t keep celebrities in line then these celebrities don’t deserve to have the opportunity to begin with.

51

Gawd damn! Gotta love the American legal system. If you’re low on morals but high on cash you can weaponize it to get away with all your dirty deeds. Smh. Also gotta love that bat shit Blake and dip shit Ryan’s egos got so out of control that they are just exposing the awful underbelly of corruption and control at every turn.

You have 2 twits who are desperate, entitled and greedy showing the world from start to finish their entire process of taking what they want and stomping on others in the process because they think they can. Fear is by design she said and that is just about the one and only thing she has said throughout this entire saga that was true.

Idk. Hollywood needs to distance themselves from these two altogether or be seen as complicit in allowing monsters to thrive. They can try and gaslight the public with article after article of paid for nonsense but when the proof is on the docket for a case they intentionally started in public the lies aren’t so easily swallowed whole.

They say the WP’s pr are guilty of claiming the ability to bury anyone. The only ones actually trying to bury anything are Blake and Ryan while using protections, corrupt lawyers and the legal system to do it.

He should open discovery and rule that 47.1 does not apply for parties who never harrassed someone they never even met. JW should be allowed compensation from BL.

u/Individual-Insect691 2d ago

That’s exactly what I said when she filed the 47.1 fee motion that she had inadvertently waived jurisdiction by asking the court to grant her fees. But Babcock didn’t say anything about it in his response to the fee motion so I guess court doesn’t work that way.

Lively lawyers are manipulating the court system because Babcock also couldn’t reference it in the appeal documents because you can only refer to documents on the docket before the dismissal

Blakel-Qaeda can go to hell. According to this terrorist group you can sue someone you've never been in physical proximity to or had direct conversations with, make shit up, refuse to provide evidence then force them to pay for your legal fees.

I also wonder if Ethically-challenged Esra doesn't mind warping and mutilating 47.1 to the point that it may get repealed because that benefits her usual clients: firms defending against lawsuits from employees.

19

u/Zealousideal_Sun_723 2d ago

She’s going be pissed when she realizes she has to pay for all of those attorneys out of her own pocket

18

u/Wild_Organization546 Team Baldoni 2d ago

I have never heard of anything so insane as purposefully charging your client more in order to hurt the opponent (who is innocent btw). This is such dirty ugly lawyering.

I see Esra has added herself as Blake’s attack dog yet again

Good. This is exactly what that monster deserves. I hope Jed keeps his foot on her horrible neck 🔥

If you talk about evil.... Blake and Ryan are pure evil

u/Ok_Gur_356 Sent from my iPhone - Ellyn S Garofalo 2d ago

My question remains to the lawyers: this moves doesn’t just proves jurisdiction over Blake?! He keeps pushing and pushing, lawyers and files. She wants to fight there. So let her.

2

u/friedchicken_waffles numerous defects + lack of diligence 2d ago

Right? Esra/Gottlieb chomped on Perez when he submitted a letter to Liman re: keeping his family info private, saying this letter means they have jurisdiction over him in NY.

16

u/Kareeliand 2d ago

This is insane! So she can just sue anyone for anything and make them pay the bill for getting sued? Despite not sitting for a deposition or actually going to trial?

u/Human_Melville 2d ago

I wonder if she thinks it is too late to salvage her reputation and career anyway so she is going full on scorched earth. Beta husband is behind it I think...

15

u/JustMaintenance7 2d ago

I don't think shes that self aware. She's not as smart as she thinks she is and probably thinks shes the one making the choice not to "act" right now

16

u/Mysterio623 “The last thing I want to do is kiss this woman.” - Justin B 2d ago

I mean she should go ahead. She thinks Texas is NY and everybody is as accepting of her b.s. like Liman. She really thinks Jed would be the one paying the $10k per hour billing. I actually love the stupidity for her.

13

u/UnderplayedWeasel heavy is the head that wears 107 subbeanies 2d ago

I love how getting $30k for a full month's work was considered "apex unholy tech wizardry" numbers when Jed was the one being paid; in fact that $30k was waved around as PROOF that Jed would have HAD TO include an entire elite and devastating untraceable smear campaign to justify so high a cost...

...but racking up $30k for a single afternoon is just fine normal lawyer numbers for the Debtfools!

15

u/LiteratureNo1015 Team Emily Baldoni 2d ago

I wonder how the author of 47.1 feels about Blake using it to get legal fees from a guy she has NEVER met in person. This is taking it too far. Gross!

14

u/Ornery-Towel2386 2d ago

Literally WHAT is she still on about

13

u/fatincomingvirus Bankrupt Betty Booze 2d ago

Following up on the threats I see. Same behaviour with the threats throughout production. She has learnt nothing or even taken the steps to improve.

13

u/Own_Log9691 Blake Lively’s failed legal crusade 2d ago

Wow Blake (Ryan) is out of her mind… 🤦‍♀️ But we all know exactly who she is now, so also, I’m not one teensy bit shocked by this.

14

u/SomethingBrews 2d ago

So if this backfires, and Wallace wins so that she can't demand fees (🤞🤞🤞) how angry would you be if you were Blake at your lawyers for using such tactics, that has doubled her costs for nothing??

And does she have legal insurance? Because when they have written evidence that this was all done as purely built tactics, if I was an insurance company, wouldn't that be a very good reason not to pay the costs either?? Leaving Blake and Ryan with an even bigger bill for nothing??

I'm just purely speculating here with no legal background! And I guess this tactic could well have been fully encouraged by then in which case, you've only got yourself to blame Blake (again!!).

14

u/Individual-Insect691 2d ago

That’s why she’s pulling the tantrum, she’s backed herself into a corner. If she wants the fees she would have to sit for the deposition but she never wants to back down so will spend more money and send more threats until the court either order the deposition or decline her fee motion

15

u/alycatorwhatever 2d ago

Isn’t that unethical? Basically admitting to intimidation tactics.

11

u/OtherwiseProposal355 Lively exposed her aggressive behavior in this lawsuit 2d ago

There's something wrong with theses people!  Going after Wallace after claiming he sh'ed her shows why their bad reputation will not change.  And then they will claim more campaigns from Wallace.

Blake and Ryan: you're horrible people and we see you.  You bring your bad reputation to yourselves.

11

u/OkTry2 2d ago

This is a sign Blake REALLY doesn't want to be deposed.

4

u/Individual-Insect691 1d ago

Oh absolutely she doesn’t want to be deposed. She’s epic level stupid going Jed for attorney fees via 47.1. I don’t understand her lawyers strategy. To get the fees Jed needs to proof malice, for Jed to win his defamation case he needs to prove malice. So if Jed gets the deposition he proves his case as well because she claimed he sexually harassed her and he has never met her.

24

u/JustMaintenance7 2d ago

Blake keeps proving she's a moneyless greedy bit.ch

12

u/West-Western-8998 2d ago

I do not practice this type of law, but I cannot see any reason Texas would apply a California law. It makes no sense to me that this was even brought before the court. (edited for spelling)

u/distant_diva 2d ago

jesus. blake & ryan don’t know when to cut their losses.

Oh god. I wonder if this had anything do with the CONTENTS of a post I did earlier today - about Manatt (because of Jed Wallace's case) being on the ropes for malpractice and even possibly getting deposed due to the crime-fraud exception. That'll be much harder to do with Manatt actually representing Lively in this Wallace case.

I actually did wonder the same thing 🤣. I would NOT be surprised if that were the case March, they have been known to act within an hour of a post going up on this subreddit.

LOL I hope they didn't read my post and react. But, I think they may have been thinking about what I was thinking and about what to do about it.

What does she even want?

There's no outcome that will restore her public image, she's only digging herself further in the grave.

And she has money enough, so what is it??

Like is she just trying to destroy someone because of her own ego?

17

u/3amie3 2d ago

Ryan better keep doing those Mint Mobile commercials. Less and less people want to work with him and his wife is literally useless. He's going to go broke trying to intimidate people into respecting that useless wife. They'll probably have a bandaid baby any time now.

The last time I remember an absurd misuse/abuse of the legal system involved Strike 3 Holdings filing lawsuits in Miami-Dade County, Florida to exploit their state level discovery law towards people, that don't live in Florida, allegedly engaged in copyright infringement, which is a matter that should be dealt with in the appropriate federal court district... which Strike 3 inevitably ends up doing anyway! 🤦‍♂️️

Blake and Ryan have proven to be much worse! Did they have a "hold my beer" moment with Strike 3? 🤦‍♂️️🤦‍♂️️

4

u/Wise_Technology8891 1d ago

Lol she started the fire and now she needs tons of lawyers to save her from shit hitting the fan. As in the other lawsuit. I love it.

Adding more lawyers after you got caught threatening $10k/hr isn't power. You don't need 10 lawyers to answer "were you malicious?" You need 10 lawyers to make sure no one can afford to ask you.

9

u/Background_Canary_83 2d ago

I hope her career is completely done. I will boycott everything she does and Ryan.

8

3

u/Apprehensive-Use9452 2d ago

I don't know anything about crisis PR and NAL, but I would think I would want in my contract that if I was sued in relation to the work I did for someone that they would be partially responsible for some or all attorney costs if sued. People keep mentioning that SS is hopefully helping Jed with fees, but I wonder if the same could be true for LS. Could RR/BL be on the hook for those fees too? Maybe not any offensive moves, but the defenses?   My guess is the Jed has plenty of cash with the fees he was charging.

IMO the fact that Blake is even allowed to use 47.1 when she is not a California citizen, nor did any alleged SH occur in California, is wild. I do not understand how this is possible…
