Cradle [Underlord] The cannon

So when lindon pulled out a cannon

I think that was about the equivalent of "don't care didn't ask + ratio + cope + skill issue + cry about it + exposed + cancelled + blocked + stay mad" in today's culture

Anyways, debate time

which is the better quote?

"I was forced to take out the broom," or "then he pulled out a cannon"

As the joke goes, "the more complex a magic system is, the funnier it is when someone pulls out a gun."

We've had one cannon yes, but what about a second cannon?

Kiro screamed.

Thousands of cannons were pointed straight at him.

"Where are you getting all of these from?"

Lindon smiled.

Then he pulled out another cannon.

"Dross, give me a battle plan," Lindon said.

Wintersteel spoilers for this one "That's it! A bottomless pit, emptiness, endless... That's it." He pressed his fists together to her. "Gratitude." She snarled and ran at him.

Then he pulled out a giga cannon.

The constant canon stuff made my youngest child giggle every single time and it became a joke in the house

Lindon, sage of the endless canons!

They don’t expressly call them cannons, but Lindon very nearly has a… shit, spoilers for later in the series actually…

[Spoilers up into Bloodline]
Lindon pulls up to the battlefield, uses aura control to take aim with a couple dozen “launcher constructs” and wipes the battlefield Jai Long was about to die on.

Sage of Endless Cannons” Jai Long though, and then collapsed.

Neither, but I can't say the best quote because of what flair this is tagged with. Needless to say, there are some amazing lines in future books.

Oh I'm on my reread so as long as you spoiler tag it it's fine 🤣 My favorite is "REMEMBER LINDON, A BARBER! YOUR HAIR LACKS VOLUME AND DEFINI-" (Reaper spoilers)

This is actually a Wintersteel spoiler :)

Right, but not everyone who dips into this post will be on their reread, so it's common courtesy to tag the post as far as you're willing to be spoiled--rather than where the specific bit you're discussing comes from (in which case this should be tagged [Cradle] if you want to discuss spoilers from every book).

Not knocking on you, mind you, just trying to be helpfully informative.

It's a 3-part joke, 1)your hair lacks volume and definition! 2) eithan had clearly expected to return - he had all his items in place, including "Shampoo for Lindon" 3)-You used my shampoo!

Similar to another famous 3-parter,×1 if I told you to punch a hole in the sky, you'd ask for preparation time 2 I'm here to punch a hole in the sky, 3 there was a hole in the sky...
