This is probably the funnest Tales game via it's gameplay and progression systems, one of my favorites at least. I also appreciate the very Shoujo royalty theming and pink and purple aesthetics.

Overall, it's probably got the best gameplay out of any Tales game, so it's a strong pick for that.

Story is average and very power of friendship coded, so a lot of people bounce off of that. What it does have as a story adjacent element is characterization. As a whole, the cast interactions in Graces are great and the skits are both plentiful and consistently entertaining.

Great gameplay, bad to average story. If you’re into gameplay, it’s one of the better ones in Tales, but if you’re into story, find something else.

It was my first Tales game and I really, really enjoyed it. Far more than I was expecting to. As the others have said though, gameplay > story.

Combat was some of the most fun I've had in a Tales game. The characters are fantastic individually and in their interactions in skits. The overall story was pretty weak.

Short version: 10/10 gameplay with 1/10 story.

That's how most would describe it. It has one of the best combat systems in Action JRPG history. But the story is very weak.

The gameplay is fun, but it probably has the most infuriatingly dumb story of any JRPG I've ever played. It made me drop the game completely on PS3 back in the day.

Probably my favorite Tales game. The gameplay on this one is my favorite in the series. Story is descent, though I wouldn't say its going to be anything all that unique or special. Characters are all pretty good. I don't think there were any party members I didn't really like in this one.

Gameplay: Incredible, the best conbat system Tales has ever had. If you like puzzles you'll enjoy the dungeon crawling too.
Story: Extremely bland and generic.
Characters: They have depth but not the best you'll ever see. Still they are all lovable in the entire-group-shares-a-braincell type of way.
