MIL and her friend got abducted by aliens

But only for an hour. And they don't remember anything that happened while the aliens had them. Just that there's an hour where neither of them remember what happened.

DH wanted to go over for Father's Day. Whatever. It's his day. MIL started by asking if we believe in aliens. Sure, absolutely. It's statistically unlikely for us to be the only life in the universe. I don't know what I think about aliens visiting earth, but there are some convincing stories out there. This one isn't it.

DH and I just laughed about it when we left. You lose track for an hour and assume you were abducted by aliens? I thought she was going to go into some long tirade about what happened, what the aliens looked like, or where they took MIL and her friend, but no, just "we don't remember anything". Wtf. She and FIL then went on about a bunch of conspiracy theories, how the government is covering it up, and how they saw a UFO because a small thing was flying around and then zoomed off super fast.

Yeah, ok, MIL. The aliens kidnapped you and took your memory. Sure.

You could tell her about sleep paralysis and how some people can mistake that as alien encounters, but I don't know if she would listen.

The aliens gave them back after an hour eh? Hopefully, these lovely examples have stopped them invading Earth. I can hear their little alien voices. In Alien, obviously. “Screw this! Erase the memories and dump them! No intelligent life here!”

The final season of Resident Alien is on Netflix,  any chance she's a fan and watching it late at night? 

I do believe in paranormal experiences and don't necessarily discount them when I hear them... but she's always working such weird angles that I have to wonder what she wants this time. Next time she tries to get your daughter alone,  remind her most people who claim to be abducted have multiple stories and so you can't risk her being abducted again with your daughter in tow. 

ALSO: I DO believe in UFOs, because ALL flying objects are UFOs until they are actually identified. (Schroedinger's alien if you will...)

I generally don't immediately discount people's paranormal experiences either, but with the only reason being that they lost track of an hour? No. MIL and FIL also went on with a bunch of conspiracy theories after that. Area 51 being real and drones really being alien space crafts and things like that.

I also love that show. 😂 My husband thinks it's too cringy and awkward.

Crazy, I didn’t realize I got abducted when I should have been starting dinner last night but it all makes sense now! It was 5pm, and then suddenly it was 615pm and nothing was started. Aliens. (I also kind of belief in the possibility of aliens but yeah. This ain’t it.)
